Im an idiot that thought it would be fun to try and build a mandolin in my spare time. well im going on the end of the one year mark. My question is when building the body, does the thickness of the wood really matter, the wood im working with is about a quarter inch thick, and I really dont have any access to a planer, so if anyone else out there knows anything about this, I would Appriciate the input...
hollow body or solid body?

If its solid body thats not thick enough. But I think it may be to thick for a hollow body
