So, Im looking at an Ibanez guitar ATM and its got everything I want. The problem is, it has a Floyd Rose which I dont want.

I've heard that all you have to do is block it with a piece of wood and it becomes like a hardtail. I have a few questions:

Is there more to it than this?
Will it have a bad effect on the guitars sound?
Can I take off the locking clamps at the nut?
Will it stay in tune?

Please dont tell me to go to the Sticky thread coz it doesnt have the info I need and it might take several days for anyone to reply to me and I need info as soon as possible

just wedge a block of wood between the string block and the rear of the guitar...and a bit on the other side..

thats why my edge 3 used to stay in tune :P

its an edge 3, scum of the world trem...
just block that beast up with blocks of wood, or buy a trem setter..the first option is free...
