I've narrowed my amp choices down to the Peavey Valveking 112 or Kustom HV 65. Anyone played these? I'm mainly looking for good metal tones. Opinions, experiences, etc.? thanks.

The VK can achieve good metal tones provided you have an overdrive pedal. Hell, I just did so with my Fender Stratocaster.

Not sure about the Kustom but more than likely it'll get there, seeing as it's a hybrid modeling amp. I have no idea how it sounds.

go to the kustom web site. They have a guitar world video review of the HV 65 there.

I second the Flextone. The VK's not really for heavier styles without serious modding.

They really are nice modellers. I agree if you're primarily playing t3h br00t4lz.
