Have to write an essay on business ethics and wonder if anyone knows the percentage of machines on the production line compared to unskilled labour?

My argument is that companies say that they don't have to be actively ethical as just being a business is good for the economy and makes jobs but I argue that if those unskilled workers can be replaced they most definitely will.

I googled, couldn't find any figures
