Hi, if you unscrew the pickguard of a strat and pull it off, will the knobs, pickups, and pickup selector go with it, or do I have to do something to it? Also, I'm thinking of routing out a tiny space in the body under the pickguard for the wires of a kill switch (2-way Toggle flip switch) to go to the output volume pots. This way i could install a killswitch on the cut away arm with the pickguard on it and not see the routing job i did. Is it recommended or would it be too much stress on the body? It's Agathis wood if that helps.
Do it. When you take off the guard, just unsolder the jack and bridge gnd wire. Please use the ultimate killswitch thread next time.
So i dont have to worry about destroying a 500 dollar guitar with a small router?
Correct. Unless you suck at routing.
