Classic cartoon Disney musicals? Yes please.

Stage musicals are fantastic on the stage but they rarely hold up on film.

That depends-I never see musicals but I have debated over the idea of making my own musical, "A Very Death Metal Christmas."

They're good to go see in a theatre, but I wouldn't sit down and watch one on DVD at home.
#12
Like a few people have pointed towards, seeing them in the theatre is much better than at home on a dvd. Our school puts on a musical every 2 years and its always such a hit. A ton of work goes into it and I cant wait until we start working on this years in a few weeks.

justin, that was easily the most inspiring, helpful piece of advice anyone has ever given me in regards to my musical pursuits.

I like Rent, Grease and.....that's about it.
Her friends are gazing on her,
And on her gaudy bier,
And weep!-oh! to dishonor
Dead beauty with a tear!
They loved her for her wealth-
And they hated her for her pride-
But she grew in feeble health,
And they love her-that she died.

Wait... are you asking if yay, we agree with you, or yay musicals are good?

I do enjoy a few musicals, but I'm not a huge fan of them.

Rocky Horror is classic, but no other musicals spring to mind that are of any value to me.

I enjoyed Rocky Horror.
Other than that I really haven't seen any.

I love plays though. Much better than going to the movies I think

Guy in my flat that likes High School Musical and has seen all three (and is NOT gay), of course everyone takes the piss out of him........partly because he supports Newcastle as well. It's like he's there just to be mocked and insulted.

I can love musicals.

Not all of them, mind you, but I have an ear for all music, so I don't count them out.

I mean, 99.9% of all Disney movies are basically musicals, and I love those movies dearly.

There's nothing wrong with them.

I mean, The Sound of Music is the #3 highest grossing movie of all time (adjusted for inflation) with $1,008,300,900.

If musicals were boring, then that movie shouldn't have made that kind of money over the years.

i like musicals. just not high school musical...it sickens me
To say of what is that it is not, or of what is not that it is, is false, while to say of what is that it is, and of what is not that it is not, is true.

Depends which musical..

Phantom of the Opera, yes.

High School Musical, NO.
Sigs are overrated.
