How do people get their amps distorted and still play cleanly? Take, for example, Between the Buried and Me. I watched their Colors Live DVD (great DVD by the way) and while they're playing, I don't hear their fingers sliding on the strings, or anything. Is this some kind of effect, like a noise gate, or a compressor, or something? Is it just the quality of the guitars or amps that they're playing? Or is it just really good technique? I've wondered for a while now. Thanks in advance for the help
