I still can't figure out why you'd write stuff on your guitar when you could have a Hello Kitty strat like all the other metal kids do.

Steve Harris frowns at this message.

Oh, and Per Wiberg from Opeth fits their image to a T. He also headbangs like a madman, which might not completely fit in with Mike's statue-ness.

Steve's primarily the bassist They don't really have a full-time keyboardist as such.

And if it's headbanging you want, then look not further than the guy from Type O Negative.

Michael Kenney (Steve's bass tech) does the keyboards for Maiden when they are playing live.
But he's not on stage, obviously.

That's partly what I mean. You wouldn't really call him THE Iron Maiden keyboardist.

Like the bassist in Bon Jovi isn't really considered a real part of the band because they didn't want to fully replace the old guy (sorry to bring them up in a thread about metal, lol.) If you want a more metal example, then the bassist who's in Blind Guardian at the moment is considered a "touring" member, rather than an actual full-time band member.

No no no, I wasn't arguing against you!
I agree with you entirely.

I was just saying, as part of a general conversation, the name of the keyboardist for Iron Maiden's live show.
I just quoted you as you were the last post.

Seems awkward to me, playing backstage with a band you can't see.

the keyboardist from Cradle of Filth certainly fits in. As does Jordan Ruddess (DT) when he had hair.

We including synths in this? If so, the singer from BTBAM fits in.

Jordan now has epic metal beard, so he fits in more than ever

Dammit, I was listening to Opeth when I posted and completely blanked the fact they had a keyboardist out

True. He should steal LaBrie's un-epic metal beard and make an epic metal merkin.
