Like Mesa Recto's, XXX's become tighter and more focused with EL34's.

That should sound pretty good, I use the JJ El-34s and love the way it changed the amps voice, IMO for the Triple XXX EL34>6l6GC

lots of people swear by the el34's in the xxx.....i was going to go that route myself until i got the v-30's...at some point i would like to try it myself

(my comment reguarding the not making a noticable difference was in reguards to the el-34's vs the winged el-34's)

rock on xxx brothahs!!

I use EL34's in my JSX and play through a V30 loaded Mesa 4x12. I have to set my eq's mids to 3/10 cause I've got mids coming out the ass!!! Sounds great though.

^ on the Ultra or Crunch Channel, both channels are quite midy, but I like the mids I crank them to 6 on the crunch channel to really get a Marshall type bite, I keep the gain below half and it really screams JCM 800.
