I will be buying this shortly, i know the pickups are meh but is there anything else that i should look out for or replace?

Never played it but from what I gather its a good starter/budget 7 string

I like mine. For some reason it's the only non-Jem seven string with neck binding. The stock pickups are alright, they work if you like heavier metal, but if you want better cleans I advise you to invest in new pups.

Oh, and it should take you about a week to get used to the flatness of the wider neck.

I'd advise you to buy one that you've played before. Some felt amazing, others felt like crap (I'm not the most picky person either).

I think you mean its the only non UNIVERSE seven string in PRODUCTION by Ibanez that doesnt have neck binding

My 7 string has neck binding, as I'm sure many older/J custom models do aswell.
