ok, im getting a new guitar for christmas, and im looking or something thats versatile, but unique, and i have a ibanez art300 for some heavier stuff, so im looking for a guitar for blues, funk, classic rock, and some cleaner stuff. im trying to decide on either a standard hss strat, in blue, but ill eventually repaint it yellow and have a black pickguard and get yellow pickup covers, because bee guitars are awesome lol. an epi 66 sg in silverburst http://www.guitarcenter.com/Epiphone-Limited-Edition-1966-G-400-Electric-Guitar-102676350-i1166714.gc

or an epiphone dot, the flame topped one http://www.guitarcenter.com/Epiphone-Dot-Deluxe-Flametop-Semi-Hollowbody-Electric-Guitar-101834539-i1166291.gc

i am doing a lot of funk and blues stuff, and if i got the dot id get a bigsby for it, and id get some kinda tremolo for the sg. which would be best for what i need? i love the sg, and i could use it or heavier stuff too, along with the strat, like iron maiden stuff.. i cant decide

I think you should try a tele

^+1. Tele's are great guitars. I'd have one rather than a strat if the strat deal I got wasn't so damn good.

i dont know about a tele, would it be able to o a decent variety of sounds? and im kinda wanting something with a tremolo, just because its something different than what i have lol.. i play a lot of chili peppers stuff, and a bunch of blues stuff, and i want a guitar that can handle pretty much everything, which is why i thought of the strat and sg, the dot is just a unique looking guitar, its just different and is good for funk and blues... i still dont know >_<

Then yeah, go for a strat. It's basically a tele with a third pickup, a tremolo and a slightly less sexy design. =D

Try some strats and teles. Maybe try some Gretsch guitars too if unique is what you want.
These things are unique, and have a Bigsby on it already.

Of course there is the single cutaway model also. They also have these without the Bigsby.

I wonder if you could put full sized humbuckers in there. Seems like the spaces are bigger than the pickups.

John Entwistle once in a while. I had to try to find him when I saw The Who two years ago.

I'd say look at the G-400 of the 2 links... but i'm biased against the dot's looks...
