Hey everyone, I've been checking out this forum for a bit now and finally decided to ask for some advice. I am about to start jamming with some buddies (maybe a few gigs) and only have a shitty 15w practice amp. I was looking to upgrade to a decent tube amp. We will be playing mostly punk and some hard rock. I have narrowed it down to these two but am open to any more suggestions, my budget is around $500 cdn but I am pretty cheap so less is best .

1. http://www.peavey.com/products/browse.cfm/action/detail/item/7505/Delta%20Blues can get it for $450cdn used at a local shop.

or

2.http://www.axemusic.com/product.asp?P_ID=17269&strPageHistory=search&strKeywords=Crate,Guitar,Amps&numPageStartPosition=21&strSearchCriteria=all&PT_ID=all it's on sale for $280cdn at a local shop

please let me know what you think.

Have you looked at a Valveking 112?

I would do that and get a Celestion Vintage 30 to replace the speaker. Amazing setup

the valve king is 499 here so it would be almost twice as much as the crate after mods. Is it worth twice as much?

yeah, in Canada, the Traynor looks nice but migh tbe a bit high in the price range

definately get the crate, i love it.
Its especially good for hard rock and punk.
I finnally now what my sound/style is after i played this amp, definitely Turbo negro, or as they like to call it "deathpunk".
If you like playing a mix of Hardrock and Punk then this is your amp.

On radio, punk and hardrock are pretty much the same thing, but im talking about underground .
