So would this amp be good for me?

I play classic rock and blues and also some metal. I do have distortion pedals too. What is you opinion if this amp. I want to be able to practice with it but to be able to jam with friends also.

It'll do both those things. Just don't expect to play very clean when you jam. But other than that, I think the consensus is that its a decent amp.

It also can't do crazy metal, but its a good blues/rock amp.

Mesa/Boogie Express 5:25
MXR 6-band EQ, Boss NS-2, Boss PS-5, MXR Phase 90, MXR Carbon Copy

That will have a lot more headroom, but still won't get you into metal. I'm not sure about the quality on crates, as I've never played one, but I think that both amps are made by the same company.

Also I need to stay kind of cheap. Would a v18 get me everything I need? It looks perfect. if it will just get me the bluesy sound as well as metal.
