Hey all ive been playing Guitar for little over a year, and i would say i am resonably good.

however i have decided to learn the keyboard after weeks of wondering.
i have learnt a few modern songs
I.E Coldplay, vannesa carlton, journey

and i'm lacking things to practice and play.
so i was wondering what are some good semi-begginer songs to learn on the keyboard?

thanks all

When I started on keyboard I dove in deep and played some Dream Theater and Symphony X starting off, I could play them at really slow speeds and was gradually speeding up, but I couldn't last at high speeds, didn't have the stamina. Best to do is start with chromatic scales and stuff, chords and definitely get hand independence down as soon as possible. Some Beethoven and Mozart slow Sonatas are really easy to play, even Moonlight Sonata and stuff like that. Even do stuff on guitar and then switch to keyboard, it'll help you learn about transcribing while evenly matching your skill of guitar and keyboard. Hope this helps

Actually Dragonforce are really easy on keyboard, its mostly synth strings and piano chords, so you could get away with not playing some of the faster bits. Just to have something to play along to.

Evanescence makes for some decent piano songs.

EDIT: i dunno if they are "beginner" level. My friend hasn't had any lessons but he plays "My Immortal" pretty well after only a few days of practice.

"The band dropped off of the tour early, proclaiming that the reason the members couldn't continue was because they were in Chicago eating pizza, and claiming that it was the best pizza they had ever eaten." Thats from the Wikipedia page, says ALOT about the band
Theres a few really good synth bits in there, but don't like the band in general myself.

Where do all of you get your keyboard music?

I don't read sheet myself, theres plenty of places on-line where you can get free sheet, I wouldn't know them though.
What I do if I'm playing a keyboard piece is I'll either watch the keyboard notes on Guitar Pro for the chords and stuff, and for any leads bits, learn them on guitar first and then transfer the notes to keyboard.
