My dist pedal broke. It's a boston ds-100 and it only works with batteries. When I use an adapter it sounds like a guy screaming from inside a coke can to an almost deaf guy. I tried playing with all the EQ's and the wires are ok. When the pedal's off the cleans work.

Can I fix this myself? Or should I pay some guy to fix this? I have some soldering experience and lots of screwdrivers.

PS. I know I can use batteries as a quick fix, but I just don't trust them for gigs.
It probably isn't worth the cost to repair. Just use batteries is your best bet. Check the adapter is 9v - inside and + outside.
