I've been looking around for a new guitar and I decided on getting a Rhoads. (yes, I've been trying V's they seem comfortable to me).

However, my last guitar had a floyd rose and I want my next guitar to be a string thru.

The specific Rhoads I've been interested in is the RR3 white ones.

However, I kind of distrust the legitimacy of these Rhoads. For one, I can't seem to find them on the Jackson website. (All of the sites that sell these Rhoads say they're a limited run.. so...)

http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-Jackson-Randy-Rhoads-RR3-SPECIAL-Guitar-IVORY_W0QQitemZ160296792536QQcmdZViewItem

Notice the black headstock, a very noticeable difference between the RR5. But, I've also noticed people supposedly posting the same item, but with pictures of it having a white headstock. But I'm also assuming those sellers are lazy to take a picture of the RR3 and posted a stock picture of the RR5.

The RR3 also is a bolt-on neck.

Also, i've noticed that the RR3s seem to have different tints of white.

But, it could just be my computer monitor.

Heres some other links that sell the same guitar

Thoughts? (Note: the point of the thread is to ask of the legitimacy of the guitar, not to suggest others like the JS Rhoads) Thanks.

Eh. If you can find one and try it, then hey. If it sounds and plays good, who cares about legit?

Anyway, see if any "big" shops or sites sell it, and try to buy it from them. I wouldn't trust smaller ones if I wasn't certain.

Well, since it's a "limited run" im sure big shops don't sell them because they don't have them, right?

And I've been playing a lotta diff types of rhoads and apparently it has the same specs as the other rhoads, just a special edition paint job.

But they're all positive, whats the problem? I just bought a guitar wform a guy with 26 all positive, is that good or bad?

Well I mean the ebay seller in my previous post has 850ish positive ratings.

Either way, does anyone think the guitar is legit/ not legit?

Has anyone at least heard of this limited run of these guitars?

Agreed, but every website that has it, lists it has a RR3 limited edition. Some post a picture of the RR5 for kicks because they look the same from the front besides the different colored headstock.

That gives me a feeling that it's not a legit model, but people might not know of it because it is a "limited run". Which is why I'm asking here.

RR5 has a neck-through design from what I remember.

I think it's overpriced and it looks tacky.

it seems legit because if you check out http://www.8thstreet.com/ my local music store they have on the right side its the little box

Yeah, but the guitar in that picture is a picture of the RR5 (the white headstock).

Which is why I'm questioning the legitimacy of the guitar.

It's a legit version for like 500$ alongside the Black-yellow lines Rhoads V RR3 with no FR and Duncan design pickups. Some stores sell them online. Some people in youtube have them in some videos and that is where I found out about them.

When in doubt, avoid. Or you could always email Jackson and ask them about the "limited run".

Sam Ash (an online music retailer like musicians friend) did a limited run of these ivory w/ black pin stripe RR's not too long ago. They're legit Jacksons, it all comes down to whether or not you trust the seller.

Well I trust the seller. Anybody on ebay who has 850+ refs should be legit.

I was just worried that both of us have no idea that they're legit or not. But thank you RR787 and JustinCredible for confirming that you guys have heard of the guitar. And thanks to all for the replies. I really REALLY appreciate everybody's help and contribution to the thread and helping me.

Awesome guitar overall, just do a pick swap on it. I was going for a RR3 myself until I saw this:
