ok, so i was looking at this: sweet basses

and i saw this: tiny bass

it looks like a bass made by a company, but i couldn't see who, anyone have any idea where to get it or what it is or anything?

P.S. first post. yay.

I played one of those tiny basses like 2 months ago.
It's called the DeArmond Ashbory.
The strings were like this plasticy/nylon.
It was weird.

They're distributed by Fender, and have rubber latex strings (which will, in theory, last forver). It's called the Ashbory Bass

My friend has one... Yet to find a use for it to be honest+the distance between notes is horribly small, you need baby fingers to play it

I was looking at a used Warwick Vampyre LTD 5'er for about $200. I went home to grab my wallet and came back and some jerk with an epic beard got it already..

I forgot that you never post a serious post.

Not too many Jazzes come stock in graffiti yellow like that - I think he did all the finishing himself, AFTER the drilling.

ok so follow up Q: would it be a good second guitar? i have an iBanez that came from thier starter set, would it be good for recording and on stage or is it more of a novelty bass
#19
Well, I played it a few times, and found it impossible to play seated or without talcum powder or some sort of lube. Also, playing in tune up high was a crap shoot, but that might have to do with the talc as well.

And it's not cheap. You could get a variety of fretless basses at that price - it's more of a 12th bass than a 2nd bass. The quintessential niche instrument.

Their about £250 in the UK so their definately not cheap, I'd leave well alone to be honest, it's just an oddity for the bass player with too much cash

ok, last follow up Q: what would be a good second amp for between $200-600? again, i have the ibanez starter, and i think my amp is ganna go to crap pretty soon.

would it be better to get crappier head and cabenit, or is a combo my best bet?
#22
I like combos, they tend to run cheaper. Acoustic B200? only 350...

So Humanity, when does your endorsement check arrive from Acoustic?

That cheezy bass is definately...interesting. And the same colour as the infamous Banana bass from Wishensky's fold.
