If i were to put steel strings on a classical guitar, would it destroy the neck. my guess is that it would, but i wanted to see if anyone knew for sure.

It can either snap the neck or rip the bridge off the soundboard.

I've seen it done. The neck warped a bit, but stayed pretty strong. The glue on the bridge held surprisingly well too.

It was the wood around the bridge that gave out and splintered all to hell though.
