We need this info:
Budget?
Style of playing?
Where you would use it?
what guitar you have?
etc
or we can't help you much

Bigger/louder/more watts =/= Better quality.

This thread wins the award for the most vague!

What styles do you play, what's your budget, where will you play it, where do you live?

Regarding budget, prolly around $350 - $500 but I would go higher if I needed to. I play metal, mostly prog-metal (i.e. Opeth) right now. Just got back into guitar after a long layoff, just playing at my house. I have a Schecter Damien 6 but looking to upgrade sometime next year.

Save your money, get an EVH 5150 III, i have yet to hear a bad tone come out of it.

anything in the 25-50 watt Tube Combo will be good

Vox, Peavy, Crate, etc....

more then likely you should consider a nice tube combo and pedal for your od/dist

Marshall JH-1
EHX Metal Muff
MXR EVH Phase 90

Definitely go for a low wattage tube combo. Most 1x12 combos will fit into your price range nicely. Don't give in and get a MG halfstack. Based on the fact that you're posting here, I know you're above that ^_^

Wow, way to jump from a 500 max budget to 2500+....Let's be reasonable here, people.

Awful advice. He should get an amp voiced for his needs.

+1 to the Randall RG50TC. Perhaps check out Bugeras...
