Is it possible AT ALL to do an inlay job AFTER the neck has been fretted? i was thinking putting the neck into a recess of sorts and having the router work from over above from a couple of pieces of wood that are even, the reason i ask is i am getting the neck made from warmoth, and want a really custom inlay. /stupid nonsensical question

Hmm.. thats an interesting question.
Sorry I can't help you though , I'm gonna stick around to see what the answer is

i guess you could, but you have to remove all the frets, re radius the fretboard, then do another fret job. not worth the money.

just make your own neck

unless your trying to inlay between the frets, and you are really good at freehanding the router without the piece that you rest the dremmel tool on, then yes, its very possible

I want to do it WITHOUT taking the frets out, and why would i need to re-radius?

the way i imagine it, the inaly is flat, board is curved, so that could be an issue, plus its standard procedure when inlaying anyway.

^ not to ruin your idea, but i cant really seeing it done any other way, unless you just re radius, that fret, which i dont think is a good idea either,

back to the drawing board i guess, good luck.

(i still say make your own neck )

It's easy enough as long as you have a fairly narrow radius sanding block and don't want anything too crazy.
