Ok so in my boredom, i decided to peel and try to consume a lemon.

I just hocked down about 2/3's of it...painful but tasty

I, still in boredum, decided to look up some facts concerning raw lemons. Surprisingly, it is one of the healthiest foods one can eat. It is a gargantuan source for Vitamin C, it grows all year round (its also dirt cheap ), its the only anionic fruit (i forget what that means but its fancy!) and it can almost instantly remedy heartburn and constipation/diarrhea. Even though its an acidic fruit, when inside the body, it becomes an alkaline (meaning that its near IMPOSSIBLE for disease to live). On another note, if raw fish is marinated in lemon, it becomes sterile and safe to eat (and raw fish itself is very healthy as well!)

Anyone else know of any super-fruits that have such a myriad of healthy aspects?

No, until I read your post and learned about lemons. I want to eat one now too, seriously.

They don't have cheap fruit in Pallet Town?
#5
anionic means it has negatively charged ions.

That's awesome that it's a remedy for heartburn. I've been having some pretty bad heartburn recently, so i'll go get a lemon or two to see how well it works.

Think that's painful, try eating an onion like an apple.

It's painful but..... painful. And I like onions. Those are apparently really good for you, too, by the way.

I love lemons. I eat them raw too.
They bug the crap out of your mouth and lips when you're finished eating though.

Acai berries are meant to be good. So are black cherries and pomegranates.

Lots of antioxidants, innit.

Lemons can also cook beef. They are used in some Mexican dish to cook the raw beef just by using the acid in the lemons. It's damn good.
I can honestly say I have really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like.

lemons are too pricey to buy.

Pears, on the other hand, are super-fan-fabulous!

-People are least likely to be allergic to pears
-Pear wood is good for making woodwinds
-Pear wood is good for smoking meats
-Pears can help with inflammation, gout, high blood pressure, urine acidity, cholesterol, and arthritis, among other things
-Pears are a good laxative
-Pear juice is safe for babies
-Pears are rich in B2 and other vitamins...

Behold the mighty Goji berry.

They contain-

* 11 essential and 22 trace dietary minerals
* 18 amino acids
* 6 essential vitamins
* 8 polysaccharides and 6 monosaccharides
* 5 unsaturated fatty acids, including the essential fatty acids, linoleic acid and alpha-linolenic acid
* beta-sitosterol and other phytosterols
* 5 carotenoids, including beta-carotene and zeaxanthin (below), lutein, lycopene and cryptoxanthin, a xanthophyll
* numerous phenolic pigments (phenols) associated with antioxidant properties
* Calcium. Wolfberries contain 112 mg per 100 gram serving, providing about 8-10% of the Dietary Reference Intake (DRI).
* Potassium. Wolfberries contain 1,132 mg per 100 grams dried fruit, giving about 24% of the DRI.
* Iron. Wolfberries have 9 mg iron per 100 grams (100% DRI).
* Zinc. 2 mg per 100 grams dried fruit (18% DRI).
* Selenium. 100 grams of dried wolfberries contain 50 micrograms (91% DRI)
* Riboflavin (vitamin B2). At 1.3 mg, 100 grams of dried wolfberries provide 100% of DRI.
* Vitamin C. Vitamin C content in dried wolfberries has a wide range (from different sources) from 29 mg per 100 grams to as high as 148 mg per 100 grams (respectively, 32% and 163% DRI).
* Beta-carotene: 7 mg per 100 grams dried fruit.
* Zeaxanthin. Reported values for zeaxanthin content in dried wolfberries vary considerably, from 25 mg per 100 grams [46] to 200 mg per 100 grams [47]. The higher values would make wolfberry one of the richest edible plant sources known for zeaxanthin content.[28] Up to 77% of total carotenoids present in wolfberry exist as zeaxanthin.[48]
* Polysaccharides. Polysaccharides are a major constituent of wolfberries, representing up to 31% of pulp weight.

Taste awful though if not smoothified.
