Can you bypass the pots on you guitar and just wire your pickups and ground straight to the input jack? My freind said that the less resistance there is on the circuit, the stronger your signal will be before it reaches the preamp. If i just got rid of the pots and had no resistance between the pickup leads and the input jack, would it work?

yeah, but you'd also lose a lot of versatility in tone, and gain a little bit more high end. If it's just a "plug in and play loud guitar" then you'll probably like this mod, but chances are you'll have some nutty feedback without a noise gate when you're not playing.

bypassing the volume and tone pots does just a little to increase the strength of the signal to going to your amp.

but it makes a HUGE difference in tone.
without any load on the pickups, they will sound extremely bright and "piercing".
even just having a volume control will tame this down considerably.

if this is what you're looking for, yes it will work.

O.K. thats cool. I plan to just do it with one humbucker. Does this look right to you?
I'm still unsure exactly where the green and bare wire go exactly. I just wanna make sure.

Draw it up in paint.

But what kind of humbucker do you have? Because color codes for wires change from company to company.
