I have a neck thou Ibanez
made of Mahogany and Maple topped,
two piece Rose Wood Fretboard and Mahogany neck
strings go through the body to the bride.
im looking for a hot output,but not active pickups
preferably a warm blues tonebut be able to turn into into hard rock/classic rock tone
I was looking to to Duncan JB at the bridge and a Jazz model at the neck
Or Dimazio PAF Joe in the neck and FRED or PAF Pro(or however it is spelled) in the bridge.
any suggestions?
Ibanez sz720fm,Ibbly RG350DX, Custom Tele-> Dunlop 535Q->RAT Pro co II-> Ibanez Fuzz->Marshall Haze 40.
Tascam US-800 and a hand full of Mics into Nedundo 4

the jb would be great for the bridge, you can get alot of tone out of those PUPs, also look at a pearly gates for the neck, but the jazz would be nice as well

If you want to go with the high out put and are looking at the FRED, you could try looking at the Mo'Joe. From what I have been able to figure out its supposed to be a lot like the FRED only higher output.

The JB ain't warm, it's shrill and trebly.

Get yourself a pair of Dimarzio Breeds, they're more what you're looking for.

They're completely different pickups, the Jazz is a more contemporary sounding pickup with a fairly smooth, even tone. The Pearly Gates has an Alnico 2 magnet so it has a spongier bottom end and it's also got a little more top end bite to it.

I could go with the Norton/Paf Pro here too, depends how fat you like your tones and how much you like your lower mids...the Breed will be too warm and fat for some in mahogany.
