So, I'm going to get a Peavey Classic 50. But I'm not sure if I should get the 410 or the 212. I like the 212 sound a lot, but never have played the 410. I play '70s rock-powerpop/garage rock: The Strokes--The Clash--The Knack--The Hives--AC/DC--Led Zeppelin, you get the picture.

So, is the 410 worth picking up for a bit more money? Or do the 10s lack as much punch as the 12s, or lose/gain something else tonally?

Also, has anyone had any experience taking the 410 to gigs......is this thing poorly balanced and heavy? I'm dumping my halfstack, but I don't want to trade one monkey on my back for another.
'Cause I have done it before and I will do it some more....

I would change the speakers... I have heard not the greatest things about the Peavey speakers... dont get me wrong... GREAT amp.... but I have heard that the speakers are meh.
I've bought, sold, and traded more gear than I care to admit.

I liked the 4x10 version more than the 2x12, but the 4x10 weighs a ton.
