well it seems that my neck pickup has just stopped working. I was playing on it and all of a sudden it comes stops coming out loud. I could still hear some sort of crackle and very light playing but it wasn't working.

UH? somebody think they can help me please? It is a epiphone les paul special 2 with whatever the factory pickups are and I would like to know if I have to replace the pickup or If i can adjust it somehow. Thanks

problems like this are nearly always an issue with the selector switch.

The selector swith on the specials are notoriously bad for that.
One thing you can do to try and narrow it down is to hit a chord and will it is ringing start playing around with the switch and knobs to see if you can get it to come back and that should pin point it . but more than likely it is your switch.
YA GOTTA HIT IT ON THE ONE
