If you're unhappy with you're tone it all starts with your amp. Don't go on a firesale until you find an amp that works for you.

The reason I'm selling (or thinking about it rather), is OCD-related.

They say that when someone starts *giving* away all his prized possessions, it's often an indicator of suicidal thoughts.

I guess we can sleep soundly knowing that the OP wants to get some cash for his gear.

Maybe he just wants to take up another hobby and needs some seed money...who knows...

Would this explain the threads and amp mind-changes?
I've bought, sold, and traded more gear than I care to admit.

I am thinking about selling my gear simply to replace everything (or as most of what I had originally).

You see, I found a roach in my guitar room. My mom killed it and threw it in the trashcan.

Bad news is everything in my guitar room is now contaminated, and I cant touch anything in that room now. So now I am selling my gear to try and replace the contents in that room.

it sucks having OCD...

Who is Ben Burnley?

And yes it was a roach. <---See, I told y'all everyone would flame me and tell me to get over it and such. Was I right?

You would be financially safer investing in some treatment for your OCD. Think of the loss you'll make if you sell all this equipment, then buy it all over again.

no no, i totally get it

Ben Burnley is the lead singer and rhythm guitarist from Breaking Benjamin

He is SERIOUSLY phobic about everything... well... mostly dying

He doesn't believe in a person's time to die, so he refuses to fly in airplanes, is scared of getting sick etc....

AKA the reason BB wont ever do a tour overseas.
I've bought, sold, and traded more gear than I care to admit.

Maybe now I can use this as an excuse to justify buying gear that will make me happy.

i.e.

Epiphone Sheraton, Fender Deluxe, and a few pedals.

That was with my Casino, but with a Sheraton, Fenders sound pretty good.

In other words, I like Fenders, just not with single-coils.

This seems pretty cool, except theres 4 12AX7's. I think its 3 for the preamp, and 1 for the FX Loop (it says its tube driven FX Loop). Would This be right then?

Also why is this $1900?

http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Fender-57-Deluxe-12-Watt-1x12-Combo-Amp?sku=485052

Is it because its hand-wired?

It's 1900 cause its a 57 lux in tweed.....

No man. I got OCD too, just not as bad. I just hate touching stuff after something like that. I gott clean it and let it sit for awhile before I'll even go near it. Don't feel bad dude. This could be a cool opportunity to get some gear you've been wanting.
#24
If I were you I would sell everything and get all brand new gear. Nothing used. Kill all the roaches and the stuff they are attracted too. Then start a new thread. Then another.

seriously dude look up your gear on ebay and read more.
#25
I was able to save my Casino. heh.

The roach was only on the table, not the guitar or its stand.

Luckily I have my dad's ampeg and my Bad Monkey in another room, so at least I can still run it through that.

Unfortunately all my writing stuff was lost and my processor. Maybe I can wear gloves when I want to use that particular stuff. Who knows?

At least I was able to save part of the ship......

True that.

I was thinking an Epiphone Sheraton (I like humbuckers better), and either a Kustom '36 Coupe, or a Fender Deluxe or something along those lines.

oh yeah, and a chorus and maybe a comp.

Go for the Fender Deluxe. I have DeVille and it sounds awesome. The only thing is the volume control is a little touchy. You could replace it with an audio taper pot and it would work way better though. Same here, I just love the sound of humbuckers, especially in a nice hollowbody through a mildy distorted amp. The Sheraton's a great guitar. I personally like Epiphones better than Gibsons, I just have the Gibsons because I was an idiot and thought it would make me have Jimmy Page tone. Gigantic failure right there. If you get a comp, go for a Keeley. The only thing is I think they just raised there prices. I don't really know any chorus pedals to recommend, I'm not all that in to using it unless I wanna sound like Satch.

Are you kidding me? Maybe instead of hawking your gear, take this as your chance to get over your phobia or whatever you're calling it. The only way to overcome weakness is to strengthen yourself.

I have OCD and it used to be pretty brutal, but, I found my ticks and I made myself stopped, I willed myself to step on those cracks and to quit tapping my foot, and it worked.

You live on a farm, but you're afraid of a roach?
I don't give a shit if you listen to me or not

Epiphone SG-400 - $250-300
Epiphone Casino - $400/QUOTE]
That's almost what those go for new.

I'd say 300 or less for the casino and 200 or less for the G-400.

Pics? I need an SG.
