Hey uh would anyone here happen to know of any good warmups for singing Salsa music? Or know of any salsa music forums or salsa singer forums where someone there could help me? I appreciate the help, thanks
I officially lost faith in Gibson's credibility. They once sold just quality guitars but attaching every artist and their grandmother's name is becoming ridiculous..
Wow! Acoustic Mirror thank you! and Gruesomania I'm definitely going to address everything you just told me. Presentation has to be decently long.

depending on what grade you're in or what you consider to be a good grade, you may not want to measure harmonics for a good grade, seems just a little too easy to hook a guitar up to a digital spectrum analyzer (thing that measures frequency) and play some harmonics

just my 2 cents

I'm a junior... any other ideas then?
Yea I figured distortion would be best anyway to please the crowd :-/ You've been a huge help though! Thank you very much.
Well whatever you think i should do I'll do. I honestly have no idea where to take this project..
Exactly that. My idea was harmonics and then I was stumped.. what should I measure and how lol. Which ever would get me a good grade is the one I want to measure though.
Admittedly this thread has most likely been done several times but I have a few specific questions.

In my science fair presentation I am supposed to be working with Harmonics.
I have string tension as my variable, and string tuning + finger positioning as my constant variables.
Then came the specifics of how will you measure these harmonics and I was stumped.

So, what would i use to measure harmonics and how would that measure them?

OR can anyone suggest to me something else involving guitar that I can do still involving harmonics?

I'd really appreciate the help and know some people will lend their assistance.
Thanks all!

In general, Arron Fink (look him up) and out of the "gods" I'd have to say either Beck or Clapton. Some people can't appreciate them

people playing guitar during lunch breaks.

.

But in all seriousness, my peeves would be someone asking me to play something I've just played(happens too often) and the tools at guitar center playing EASY songs as loud as possible. You're not cool you just had a free afternoon

If I put a gibson headstock on an epiphone is it still an epiphone?

Great question! I legit hate the fact that my Epi's say Epiphone but for the price, I legit can compare them to a Gibson (excluding the Pups) but if it said Gibson, I'd be ok.. Philosophy ftw
Ben Burnley deserves a sig model. No doubt.
WOuld anyone know where I can find these?
Sick stuff bro! I'm sure you'll enjoy every minute of use.
Benjamin Burnley plays with a Hollowbody II. Mind you its not a part of the "SE" series but still.
I like Gibson. But depending on models, you could get an Epi Elitist and get an amazing quality guitar.
"Come on" and if that doesn't work just offer what you have. 4/5 times they're gonna want your sale. Most of their pay is commission so work with what you know. Good luck.
Meh like with every product people love and hate them. I just bought my pair last weekend. Amazing if you ask me. Garbage if you ask someone else. Don't take a word for it though. GL
what gauge are your strings?
Probably a Gibson Les Paul. Not sure which model... or a PRS McCarty :-]
I read over every comment, lots of discussion I see lolz. Sorry didn't mean to get any hostility going. I probably will just save up for a historic if the difference is really that major. Any thing else?
I'm gonna do the same.. and yea I agree with the price thing. It's mainly name but I'd like to believe there is value in the guitar itself too :-] lol
I was hoping some Clist LPs would be cheaper. I'm cool with spending more but definitely not above $1200. I'm in Boston.

However I don't wanna buy a new Gibby and have bad quality. Is your 08' good?
I'm buying my first Gibson Les Paul. But the whole "wood of today" thing is scaring me. Plus I was hoping I could get a deal on some LPs locally. Used is definitely an option.

I know some years people say weren't all that great so what years should I be looking for? My budget for this is about $1000 or so depending on the model and I'm looking for anything above a studio.

Thanks!
I was offered a Bugera 6260 and 4x12 cab for $500. What are your opinions? Should I take it?

I just love the color of Ben's guitar and the BB Celtic symbol is a nice inlay. Not an actual sig guitar though :-P
2205.. Why is it that I hear bad things about the 2205? I can wait until a 2203 or 2204 come available if it's gonna be that much better.
It obviously would be better but that's a lot of money. I'm hoping it's completely worth it. Gotta drive an hour out to the guy then an hour back.
is a Bugera 6260 with a 4X 12 bugera cab worth $500? No dings or rips in tolex. Let me know people please! It's either this or a JCM 800 with cab and flight cases for $1300
Question, What are the opinions on the RM50 and what are some opinions on the Bugera 6260?

One of the staff there sneered once I was done, picked up some Ibanez and started shredding away (very sloppily, I might add) on the amp, turned up just a little louder than he needed to be, in an obvious "ha, look what I can do, suck this noob" way. So I ask one of the other guys to plug me into a Marshall 401 that's sat there and gave 'em a solid blast of the second Dry Country solo.

Since then, the first guy avoids me whenever I go in and I've never heard him playing anything plugged into an amp in that shop either.

God I hate guitar store staff. Smug cockends with barely a brain cell between them.

I've never witnessed an in-store rock off. I'm so proud of you! lolz

Guys before starting the search on humidity we must ask this fella, did you clean your guitar follwoing the gig or did you put the sweat covered instrument in its case because that seems to be the case.
Also hardshell cases can cause instruments to get moisture on their surface depending on the temperature of the day and if you dont open them daily to "breathe".

+1
Ok now are the cases good to have? I doubt I'm gonna put them in the cases after use and I rarely would I need to move them...

eh. that's meah at best. 2205s for for pretty cheap. like 5-700. the Cab is only worth 300 bucks so. no. bad deal.

EDIT: according to those (^) guys I"m wrong. I"m pretty sure the 2205 is only worth 5-700 dollars though. and the cab is 300ish so even if the head was another 200 dollars it's still only ok.

Some say yes and you say no. Thats makes me even more nervous lol! I'm just trying to get a great Marshall for that classic tone. Not the new ones from today :-/ but I like the high gain amps like this.
Do deals like $1300 for a JCM 800 2205 with 1960a cab happen often? Or should I hop on this. Deadline is in 2 days. Any opinions? Also come with flight cases. I'm just nervous as this is my first over $1000 purchase.
DicekSox you may have made my day lol but I can't find any tokais. this is good though. um question, would the Dillon actually be a good guitar? lol TC Ellis also makes a body like that.. http://tcellisguitars.com/guitars4sale.html called the series 1
I would be ok with the SE series but I hear negative comments about it.
Are there any Good PRS clones? Looking for McCarty and Hollowbody II styled guitars. Thanks :-]
Benjamin Burnley

Marc Anthony

Tim McIlrath

Adam Gontier

Ronnie Winter

and many more :-]
