Lame steam sale has been lame.

Considering that I've bought around a dozen games half-funded by free money brought about by selling trading cards... I'd have to disagree
PC Gamer just published an article about this upcoming documentary and its Kickstarter campaign on their site:

GameLoading, a new documentary about indie development, seeks Kickstarter support

And here's the actual Kickstarter campaign:

GAMELOADING: Rise Of The Indies

Loved Indie Game: The Movie and Minecraft: Minecraft: The Story of Mojang. This sounds like an idea I'd likely back.

I like how the people featured in Indie Game: The Movie are not interviewed here I have nothing against those guys, but it would seem redunant/overexposure.
Wow... never thought I'd be able to beat Mom's Heart with full hearts... but it has happened.

Also finally unlocked It Lives \o/
As expected... new set of daily deals drop... steam store goes white instantly...

Name your characters something stupid and then change their outfits to either pink or yellow. It will soften the blow.

I take it naming a character in XCOM after my daughter is not recommended?
Oh lord there's XCOM for 75% off and Borderlands 2 for 66% off again.

they have a demo whuuuuut.

did not know that. it isn't on steam.

will give the demo a go.
Yup, definitely play TBP with a controller.

So, which is harder: They Bleed Pixels or Super Meat Boy?

I wish Rogue Legacy would go lower.

+1

Yet even if it doesn't... there's a chance I'd jump on it on the last day of the sale even for only 20% off since everyone is raving about it so much and because of the numerous comparisons to Binding of Isaac.
Damnit Braid, go on Sale already.

if he liked fire emblem though he might like SMT: Devil Survivor Overclocked

Alright, will give him the heads-up on that, thanks.

theres nothing

lol seriously? :p not even remotely close to it? haha well that sucks.
Any suggestions for RPGs like Baldur's Gate for 3DS/DSi? A friend just about finished Fire Emblem and is looking for a new game to waste his downtime on..

I wasn't sure if I'd be able to run it, so I went on that systemrequirementslab site thing and it tells me I can't run anything

But I know for a fact I can run Mass Effect 3, seeing as I've completed it twice on here and all

What are your system specs?

I'm on an i7 laptop with a GT640M and I was able to run Crysis on high settings, but only got around 25fps.

I have Mass Effect 3 as well, but haven't played it yet :p I just went through the intro and I think I tried roaming around. My laptop seemed to handle it fine.

Crysis for £2.99 - worth it?

It's a good-enough shooter with a serviceable story, but it's main selling point is the graphics, really.

I'd say yes, especially if your rig can handle the game on max settings, with some particularly nifty mods... yeah.

No Multichoice? I voted for XCOM, but I'd also recommend Civ V and Far Cry 3. Although Borderlands has the most votes at the moment, and that's crap so

My wallet says no multichoice, so no multichoice :p

I'm most interested to get either XCOM or Civ V tbh, but only by a very small margin over the others.

But BL2 is also way up there because I loved BL1 and most people are saying that the sequel is a way improved version of the first game. Also most bang for the buck supposedly out of all the choices.

And the other games are also just so praised that I had to include them.
Oh wait, I should have posted this here I think instead of on the general gaming thread O_o

Which of these well-received AAA games is most worth picking up before the sale ends? (assuming of course they drop on sale again for the percentage listed)

Please vote if you don't mind:

These are the choices:

Bioshock Infinite (50%)
Borderlands 2 (66%)
Civilization V Gold Ed. (75%)
Dishonored (66%)
Far Cry 3 (40%)
Hitman Absolution (75%)
Max Payne 3 (75%)
Metro Last Light (40%)
XCOM Enemy Unknown (75%)

Dust An Elysian Tail
Fez
Nightsky
Sanctum 2
They Bleed Pixels
Sleeping Dogs
Orcs Must Die 2

Was planning to set a budget of $50 for this year's sale, but haven't had to do so because of the trading cards. Basically, I've spet just ~$10 to buy all of those, the rest from proceeds from selling off trading cards.

It's a shame the cards are being bought for so cheap now.

Still hoping the following become cheaper:

Braid
Dustforce
Rogue Legacy
^ Dust has been pretty great so far for me.

Wanted to pull the trigger on Reus, but held back. Interested to hear what you think of it.
The drop in prices of Steam trading cards has come to the point that maybe crafting a badge for one of these new games added with cards isn't such a bad idea after all. I might end up crafting a badge for Sleeping Dogs for ~$0.35 instead of selling my cards for ~$0.35
Really looking at buying Rogue Legacy now.

I've been hearing nothing but good things about it, and on one of the latest podcasts I was listening to (either Idle Thumbs or Gamers With Jobs), they were raving a lot about it as well, comparing it heavily to Binding of Isaac.

Who here has played the game? Thoughts?
So I wake up fairly early and thought I'd sneak in a quick game using Cain before having to prepare for work.

Then, at Depths 2, I find myself having 99 pennies and a Portable Slot Machine.

Frak.

-_-

Anyway, that's 5 times having beat Mom's Heart now. Another 5 more to go. Frakin' game did not give me one single trinket drop that entire run.
Start with the one with boobs.
I was just going over the Steam API / Steam Condenser and it looks like there's a ton of information to be had and play around with.

Player info, games list, achievements, stats, leaderboards, maybe even market data, items, inventories, etc etc...

I don't know how to make a website though, so that's out of the question. But I do know how to make desktop apps, so I'm doing that.

Any suggestions as to what I might try making?
tbh, I don't care at all for the trading cards, achievements, badges and related stuff. I just love them since I've made ~$30 off them for nothing except idling the games for card drops before selling them off in the market.
lol but your post wasn't an answer to the question. more like an opinion on what is wrong about the trading card system :p
Quote by Jmoarguitar
I'm not spending a cent on trading cards, I couldn't give a shit about achievements let alone the cards

Why were you ranting about them, then? They're completely harmless and a potential source of quite a bit of free money, so...
hey, flying with spectral tears is pretty cool.
Quote by Jmoarguitar
I don't like the steam trading card system that much. Mainly the fact that of the 8 cards in game you can only possibly get 4 and then you have to trade with other people to get them all, hence the trading card. I just think there was probably a better reward system thingy mabobber to use than the trading card.

well you can just buy the cards from the community market if you want
Good lord the number of games with steam trading cards has gone up incredibly quick.
Quote by AnAngrySquirrel
Just took time to load. Reus is the top deal today, definitely gonna get that.

This is the game I have my eye on as well.
Okay, 4 Mom's Heart kills. 6 to go.
re: roguelikes --- Dungeons of Dredmore probably.
How many times have you guys reset your games and started from vanilla BoI all over again?
Should I jump on Monaco now?
