I like the new album. It's extremely listenable, especially more so than Battle Studies. It's so different from past albums, which is nice. I feel like this is a turning point, at least for his style, in his career.

Aren't you in On Track?

Haha yeah. Except we are breaking up on the 27th.

I saw them on Saturday and they were pretty boring.

That's a shame. Every time I have seen them it's been a straight up party, but then again all of those shows have been in their home state.

Listening... intro.. not digging it.. waiting for vocals............................................ .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. ..................... heard an oh.. not digging it.. is this Slayer?

Well, Power Trip calls themselves thrash crossover, and Slayer is a thrash band. So there will be a lot of similarities. idk I dig it.

I thought some of you guys might find that video cool. Apparently that set was one of the craziest at the United Blood fest, which I heard was wild altogether. Also, the new 7" kicks ass. I seriously jam that album so hard. I've noticed this band start to get more attention lately, which is awesome cuz they totally deserve it.
I'm saying it's kinda depressing. Like, the one time I check UG it's religion haha.
I check UG for the first time in months, and I see a religious debate. Go figure.
Harm's Way is a hardcore band from Chicago. I'm surprised there isn't a thread already, because these guys are easily one of my favorite bands. The music is energetic, powerful, and evil. With each album having it's own sound while the band manages to keep their style throughout.

This is Delusion off their record, Reality Approaches:

This is Fantasy off their EP, No Gods No Masters:

This is Breeding Grounds off their newest full-length, Isolation:

Earlier stuff is by far better. But it's a lot better than any other deathcore releases I've heard lately. Unless I've missed out on something .
How come I haven't seen anything in here about I Declare War's new album? Seriously one of the only deathcore bands that doesn't suck.

Isn't Title Fight more pop punk than hardcore??
You're completely wrong, because they're amazing.
There is no singing lol. But yes, that would ruin EVERYTHING.
Seeing them 2 times in the next 2 months. So stoked.
This band is amazing. Just saw them with TUI, and they were great. Favorite songs off new album are Worst Of Both Worlds, Darker Half, and Soul Sucker.
I like this band. Saw em on Scream the Prayer the other day, and they were fun live. New album is legiittt.
I'm taking my bro to this. BOO, TGI, and AtB should be cool. I'll enjoy myself. Come at me.
You're late. Link was posted on page before this.
Actually I take that back... Went to a friend's show tonight and all of the bands were FTFD ripoffs. Silly me.

I'm curious as to which bands you speak of. All of my hardcore acquaintances always promote the local For The Fallen Dream's, lol.

I can say I've heard more Whitechapel ripoffs here.

Either way the reason I don't go to local shows is cuz most of them are pretty bad, regardless of what they're trying to sound like. I really only go to local shows where my friends' bands play. lol
there were some moments were I was thinking "Oh wow this song is awesome!" but most of the time those moments were followed by the rest of the song not living up to my original impression.

Basically, it has some cool moments, and some really good songs, but there were songs that I wasn't to fond of as well. Basically Constellations 2. Imo. I enjoyed it, but it's not anything really great...
I know the very beginning of empire sounds a lot like the part that uses the same pattern in up against the ropes. idk... lol

This makes me sad. You should wreck shop on those fools.

Already left lol.

I have to make do, since I'm reviewing it for UG.

Just for reference, what new song did they have that totally sounded like that old song they had?

Well, if I remember correctly Divisions starts out with the whole guitar feedback/drum intro thing.
So I got added to some group on Facebook called, "Texas Love For Hardcore", I looked at it and the first post was a link to a new Attack Attack song... so I left.
If this doesn't come to Houston I will cry like a little boy.
When I said I think that the cleans on the Parallax the best I meant that I think that his voice is the most developed, and he is better in terms of skill. But in terms of clean sections/melodies that I think are the best would be in Colors.
lolnotreally. I'm with Dimebag on this one
I used to think they were okay. Then my mom started listening to them, so they became uncool.

Seriously though I don't think they are terrible, I listen to a couple of songs off the first album once and a while, but I'm still ashamed to have them on the top of my last.fm.

lol muse

You just HAVE to rub it in don't you...
So I was checking my last.fm just now, and I see that I have played Muse 969 times in the past 3 months. No idea how this happened, must've left my ipod running or something. All I know is that now I'm pissed cuz every time someone looks at my page Muse will be at the top of every chart...
Yeah, I actually liked some of the songs off of Zombie EP, hopefully the new album will be better. I don't think I will ever hate this band though, considering they were the band that introduced me to hardcore.
Hey, congrats man!! I bet it's awesome to see hard work paying off!! Wish you guys good luck, hope everything goes smoothly! Stay with it man!!
In terms of his screams, cleans, or both?

I can agree with you if your talking about his cleans. He sings beautifully on The Parallax.
I can do some drum sampling, and I can record guitar bass and vocals. Hell, I could do record real drums but it wouldn't sound good.
It's not that bad. I am not to fond of the singing and it is still pretty generic, but I didn't think it was shit.
Hmm... I'd be down for doing some legit songwriting and experimenting with some of the guys here.
Has there ever been a legitimate Hardcore forum collaboration here?
Yeah, I would say that's the hardest part of staring a band. Finding members who are and want to be 100% committed to the music. I'm in a band right now, and I know that soon we will have to start parting ways with some of the guys just because they have other priorities. It sucks, but I know we'll have to face it eventually. Probably better sooner than later.
This is legit. Downloading album now.
