Come December, we will be heading off on tour up the West coast. Maybe I'll meet some of you guys on the way.

Give things a listen if you get a chance, and let us know what you think!

1. Buy your Mesa used. They're built like tanks, and you'll save yourself a boatload of money, especially on how much of a buyer's market it is now.

2. Use the money saved to get yourself a Mills Acoustics Afternburner 4x12. It's $1000 for the cab, but it blows anything and everything out of the water. I sold all my Mesa cabs after I got this cab...they're toys compared to Mills.

And, for $2200, you have the PERFECT rectifier setup. No cab handles a rectifier like the Mills does.
To the top! Get some free music and enjoy it!
Thanks for listening! Appreciate the comments!

Glad someone understood what I was getting at

I'm not saying to use 9's down in that tuning. You definitely have to go significantly heavier. BUT, I like to keep them as light as possible to still work well in the tuning. Like I said, heavy strings lose all attack and bite to my ears. I use 10's in Drop D, and 12's in Drop C....I'll go no heaver that a 52....Had a 60 on a guitar in Drop B for a while, and not only was it too loose, but it didn't have the attack I like because of how thick it was. This was on a 25" scale PRS.

I also agree that 24.75 is going to be a nightmare for tuning so low.

Again, just my findings with dealing with many drop tunings over the years. This forum seems to have an obsession with heavy strings. I don't buy it....sure, they're beefier, but if you have a good amp, it's beefy enough....heavy strings (and I mean HEAVY...some just go crazy) just take away the attack a guitar should have.

Best of luck!

Really comes down to preference with setups IMO. Get it to where it feels good to you, set the intonation, and rock out.

Only other thing I'd recommend is using the lightest gauge possible without the strings being floppy for your playing style. I HATE how dark thicker strings sound...just makes the low tuned sound muddy to my ears. For this reason, I don't go any lower than Drop C on my guitars....just starts sounding undefined and slow, no matter how hard I try.

Best of luck!

I've never been happy with one guitar that does such a big tuning range...a half a step is doable, but once you're going a whole setup, and then even dropping the bottom string ANOTHER step, the guitar isn't playing well at all.

The best way, and only way, IMO, is to have two guitars setup for the tunings.

Eric
To the top...happy thanksgiving!

I'd be willing to do $155.
Hey guys!

First, a happy thanksgiving to everyone!

Need to move this to pay for something....

Mint condition in box w/ manual, and also comes with a voodoo man tap tempo.

GREAT pedal at an even better price.....$160 shipped and paypalled!

PM me with interest or offers.

Thanks!

Eric
So much bad information here....some guys have got it though

If you want a volume and gain boost, you really want to run full volume, no gain, and tone to taste.

This basically works as a clean boost...you're pushing your preamp a little harder, achieving more gain, and a little more compression. You won't necessarily get more volume, but you'll get more cut...which in most band mixes, works better IMO.

Turning the gain up on the pedal adds even more compression, and if you want to cut through, you definitely don't want that.

Best of luck...IMO, the TS-9, because of its midhump, is one of the best lead boosts out there. Cheap, and gets the job done.
Pitchblack. I owned a Peterson strobostomp, and sold it for the pitchblack. Accurate enough, and MUCH easier to use.
No I do not at the moment....if someone is seriously interested, I can get a hold of a camera and snap a few, but I don't have a camera around at the moment.

Here's the guitar:

Thanks for the interest!

Eric
Hey guys!

Time to move this awesome guitar on....I love it, but I just don't play the 7 string enough as compared to my 6s to justify keeping it.

Guitar is in great condition, with only few belt buckle scratches on the back. Nothing into the wood or even through the finish...just some surface scratches that can probably be buffed out.

Guitar comes with the schecter hardshell case, whammy bar, and the remainder of the strings I have for it (6 sets or so). This is the floyd rose model.

Price is $800 shipped and paypalled.

PM me with any questions or interest!

Thanks much!

Eric
Stiletto too British voiced for your style?

Here's my Mesa Boogie Stiletto running into a mesa traditional 4x12....NOS RFT 12ax7 in V1, and PRS Singlecut with Suhr Aldrich pickups going straight in.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DPcuFHvSRf0

Tell me that's "too british" for you

You really shouldn't throw out choices before you give them a chance.

Getting another recto when you own a roadster is just a waste...if anything, the roadster is better than the regular recto. Not to mention all the ones you found are a bit overpriced.

Consider the Stiletto...the make a SICK stereo rig.
I have a Schecter Jeff Loomis Sig 7 String with Floyd Rose and EMG 707s. Comes with Hardshell case.

I'm selling it for $850 shipped and paypalled. It's the best 7 string I've had the chance to play...amazing features for the price....I'm just REALLY clumbsy on a 7 string

It cost me $1090 new with the case...

Let me know if you'd be interested!

Eric
If you don't like your base tone, then pedals aren't the way to go. You have to tune in your amp and guitar first.

Try plugging into the amp without the Zoom, and dial it in. Adjust amp settings, pickup height, etc. as the sound gets where you want it.

If you can't get where you want to be, pickups might be the next thing to consider. You mentioned you liked EMGs, and they sound killer in a les paul. They will change the tonestack drastically, pushing the front end more, and really saturating the tone to all hell, which you will definitely like if you're a Metallica and Pantera fan.

I'm also selling a mint used set of EMGs, so PM me if you're at all interested. Again, this is only considering you like the pups

After that, once you have your core tone down, you can consider effects, and the Zoom isn't anything good by any means. We'll go down that road after you solve part 1 of your problem though.
It really depends on your ear. When I started playing, my guitar would be WAY out, and I wouldn't notice. Years later, the smallest bit off sounds like complete ass to me.
Wow...this is quite possibly the weirdest thread I've read in a while....nice way to come back after a LONG time away

Threadstarter....go out and play a Paul Reed Smith....then you might understand why we're recommending as we are....watch out though....with your expectations, the guitar may quite possibly blow your mind
I swear by the PRS Singlecut...I have 3 of them...one in standard, one in half step, and one in D standard....also drop tune all of them, so I get Drop D, drop Db, and Drop C.

I don't know how much there is to explain....let's just say, that over time, after getting my first singlecut, I've sold all my other guitars for more singlecuts.

Than should say enough. If you don't like the stock pups, drop some Suhr Aldrich pups in them and they RIP!
To the top...one set gone, two more to go!
Hey guys!

Had a little too much EMG going on, so I went back to passives on 3 of my guitars, and am keeping EMGs in the rest.

So, up for sale are 3 full sets of the Zakk Wylde EMGs....81/85 set, with all pots, wiring, and even a 9V battery Most of it is wired up, but I obviously had to take some things apart to get it out. Few quick solders and you're good to go.

$170 per set, which included shipping and paypal.

Hit me up with any interest of your best offers. Also up for trades...just let me know what you got!

Thanks for looking!

Eric
Hey guys!

Up for sale is a brand new 8 GB Ipod touch. Got it free after rebate when I bought my sister a macbook, but I've decided that I'm just going to stay with my trusty ancient Ipod. I don't need all the bells and whistles of this thing

So, comes to you as new, with all cables, papers, etc.

$260 Shipped and Paypalled.

PM me with any interest of offers.

I'll have a picture up a little later after my camera charges.

Thanks!
^Sadly, that is usually the case
The 85 is VERY thick...but it still has a very nice snap and attack.

I actually like it quite a bit!
TS-9 SOLD!
ISP SOLD!
Power cable for Memory Man SOLD!

Much more to go though!
Thanks for the positive response.

Amazon charges shipping....they take forever....mine is in the same condition. I'm also open to offers.
Hey guys!

Great DVD here....tons of live and studio footage of a great band. Bunch of ridiculous antics from them aswell, as one would expect.

$17 shipped and paypalled.

Hit me up with interest or offers!

Eric
I fall the prophecy models have EMGs, I would recommend them. I really really like EMG pickups. They're A LOT more versatile than most people say. I love them and use them in all my PRS guitars. All duncans, dimarzios, PRS pickups, etc, fell short for me, and I finally found my sound with EMGs. People bash them VERY quickly, so I was hesitant to take the plung, but boy am I happy I did.

As for the guitar itself, I saw a Les Paul Prophecy at my local store, and it was very well put together, and looked pretty sleek. Only drawback was that after the 22 fret, the fret access was horrible. Definitely not made to be a 24 fret guitar.
Hey guys!

I'm moving out, and decided to tear apart the rack mount setup...got a lot of things to send off, and need to add a few.

US and CANADIAN BUYERS ONLY! Sorry for all international interest, but I'd rather not deal with it.

All prices include shipping. Money order is preferred, as I'm not too happy with the business of the "paypal and ebay" company, but if it is a deal breaker for you, paypal is accepted.

Voodoo Labs Ground Control Pro
As new....bought it about 6 months ago, built my rig around it, but my life has throw some changes, and money takes priority over the rig. $350

DMC GCX Audio Switcher
Also in perfect working order. Comes with power supply. $350

30 ft. Midi Cable
Runs between the GCX and Ground control....5 pins to power the Ground Control aswell. $15 (free for buyer of the GCX System)

Electro-Harmonix Deluxe Memory Man
Outstand pedal here...one of the best IMO. Can't justify keeping it at the moment though. Comes with original wooden box and power supply. $230

Analogman Silver Mod TS-9
Great pedal...my favorite tubescreamer by far, but again, too much for me right now. $150

Voodoo Labs Pedal Power II
The pedal power block to have. Mint condition, and with all cables and paperwork. $150

EH Deluxe Memory Man Power Cable for PP II
Title says it all. $10

ISP Noise Decimator
Mint condition, in box with all paperwork. $100

Boss CEB-3 Bass Chorus
Great pedal in as new condition. $55

I appreciate the offer, but I really don't have a need for any of it.

Sorry, and thanks again!
