I would love to know how to play this song. I was thinking about maybe using it as an open mic night song. The only problem is that my ears suck and I can't figure out the chords. The songs on their second album get awkward. thanks in advance.
I remember when they were popular with the song "What did I do?" oh man that band was sweet. whatever happened to those guys???
Anyone here see about the three box sets that are coming out. (each one chronicles another era 76-82 is Collins, 70-76 Gabriel, and 83-98 Collins and that other guy that did calling all stations) the only this I don't understand i why they aren't including their first album. anyone have any clues about that??
I'm trying to figure out "Hey DJ" by Suburban Legends but I can't tell if it's a half step down or standard tuning. Anyone know this song. Thanks.
I thought so. I just wasn't sure. I could find anything on it. Thanks all.
I've just been wondering who's on the cover of "Sublime". I don't know if it's Brad or someone else.
Terry Kath, John Lennon, George Harrison, and Bradley Nowell.

That's for guitarist for rock stars in general. Hands down Bon Scott so he get on AC/DC's and have them get **** done....Mercury cause it's not Queen without him and Bonham.
Theres this song I found on the internet and I believe it's by Eric Johnson but I'm not sure cause I've never heard him sing. It's a blues like song...kinda sounds like an SRV song. I've tried searching the lyrics on google but I can't find anything. Maybe someone here can help...Some the lyrics are, "I grow tired of the city need to get away sometimes. Out of these big bright lights..." thanks in advance.

this song is in the middle stages of being finished...still need to move a lot of words around to make it flow better but here it is
C4C is doable if you give a real crit. not like wowie awesome k crit mine

Obsession, Obsession
You’ve got me in a swirling depression
You’re just trying to taint my mind
As I’ve told myself for the hundredth time
There’s nothing I can do for my latest obsession

I think it would a cool Idea if this was like a letter, Like start this off with "my dearest obsession, I've got a confession" or something like that.

You were the best thing that ever happened to me
Now I silently watch you walk right out (of my life)
I can’t let it end like this
This is my last grasp at my latest obsession

I must say I've written a bunch of songs with that first line, and I like how you mix rhyme and blank verse. also line two is a bit incomplete, so I put a little addition, since you're not rhyming here I think it would work out nicely.

I can’t get my mind off of you
No matter what I do
You’re always right there
Taunting me to care
Telling me to strive
Telling me I need to work to get what I want (to learn to survive??)
Now I’m giving all I got
Just to get to my latest obsession

This throws me off. It should either rhyme the whole way through or not. I like how you start this off. but from there it just starts to be words. I think it would sound better if you switched the places of telling and taunting. That way it flows better.

Obsession, Obsession
You’ve got me in a swirling depression
You’re just trying to taint my mind
As I’ve told myself for the hundredth time
There’s nothing I can do for my latest obsession

All I want is to be back next to you
I would give anything to have you back
I can do nothing but sit here with thoughts of you
There is nothing I wouldn’t do just to bring back my latest obsession

Don't state your feelings out right, it starts to sound a bit cheesy. try being a little more cryptic. Say something like "Memories fill my mind/ good or bad it happens all the time/It doesn't help me when I sleep/ Cause when i try, inside my mind you creep"

There’s been a thousand girls before
Now as you’re standing in that door
I realize this is the one I want
I see a tear fall to the floor
As I realize you won’t ever want me back
But I’m begging you, as my latest obsession

I don't really see much wrong with this part, perhaps the jumping around with the rhyming. Other than that it was a good song.

If you could please check out my other song I have posted. It's in my signature. thanks.
No he didn't die. He's alive and well.
I wrote this song a few nights ago and just finished it before posting it. It's about my friends car accident he had in high school. Tell me what you think.

On my way to school, can't be late.
Because today is such a special date
Today I get to meet Fate.
And finally see what she has in store for me

I drove up to the designated spot.
Looked left then right didn't see a lot.
Then I thought she forgot
so I started to make my turn and

(chorus)

that's when I was broadsided.
that's when my car and a semi collided.
Metal and glass shards everywhere
still I wondered why fate wasn't there.

Flashing lights and talking voices is
what pulled me from my haze
and out of the corner of my eye
I swear I saw fate in my gaze

I was in the hospital when it dawned on me
Why fate was late for our date at 733
She was busy stopping tragedy
who she thought would intervene with our plans.

People came to visit me all day and into the night
And although not everyone came to visit I know they prayed for me to fight.
Still I was hoping for Fate and I to unite.
And that's when it happened.

chorus

That's when I was broadsided
That's when my fears subsided.
I finally saw Fate standing there
Looking delicate and fare

I asked her "why weren't you there?"
She stood there trying to avoid my stare.
she said "I had to do it I swear"
"Someday it'll all make sense to you

A few years have passed and now I know
that accident really helped me to grow
I'm not the same guy so many years ago
And I'm glad to say I'm happy Fate was late that day.

Thanks for in advance.
I was watching Family Guy tonight and there's a joke were Chris spray paints "That's Enough, John Mayer" and I don't understand what the joke is supposed to be.....Could someone explain it for me...man this makes me feel stupid but anything would be good. Thanks.
I've had my standard strat for about a year now and I have a question. I changed my strings from the fender bullets to Ernie Ball skinny top Heavy Bottom 10's. Here's the problem. The Bridge is up really high now and I'm trying to adjust it but I don't know exactly what I'm doing and I don't want to screw anything up. I've read in the fender manual to keep the strings in tune while I do the adjustments but I'm scared. Andy advice???
^^^

Yeah I realized I had to figure that out.
Ok I have a Washburn Lyon bass guitar, but the neck it way to fat for my hands. Then I had the Idea that I could take a fender neck and replace the washburn with the fender. Would that do anything to the bass?? And would it be a bad idea????

thanks in advance.
how do you subscribe to a thread???
I'm not exactly new but I sure do feel like one. Hi, my name is Joel.
UH well....that was interesting. I liked it. I don't generally listen to screamo but then again If it's not to heavy screaming I suppose I could take it.

If you wouldn't mind would you check outMy song. Thanks in advanced. good song by the way.
I could see this as an acoustic song. With some nice finger picking. MMMMMMMMMM Nice. Perhaps in a minor key to go with the moody lyrics.

By the way in my song The second verse ending....I was going for an internal rhyme I guess. Cause I rhymed son with anyone....Pink Floyd does it sometimes and I thought I would try and emulate that. thanks for the types man. And good luck with your writings.
Hell...I was expecting a love song and then (to quote Emril) BAM!!!! You go politic on my. Although I'm having a hard time hearing the genre/style of the song in my head. Let me know about that and I can give you a better opinion.
So I have this song that I wrote, most of it came out of nowhere. So if it sounds a little cheesy at the end that's when the inspiration fell out. Tell me what you think....

Verse I

I sat in a room with imaginary friends
Discussing the complexities of love
I told them my worries and burdens
They shook their heads and asked for help from above
They're the first ones I told my plan
To live my life as a permanent single man

Chorus

And Mr. Green and Professor Plumb said
"Now son, don't play dumb."
"You can't run from love forever.
Eventually you'll find someone
And the gamble is trusting her
And hoping she won't leave"

Verse II

Their words washed over me like a cool breeze
But I had to admit I was scared
I turned to the half-god Hercules
And asked "what say you" He stood and declared
"Listen to us, we can help you son"
But I still fell like I can't trust anyone at all.

chorus (subject to change)

That's all so far, let me know what you guys think of it. I know the subject matter is a little cliche, but it's a rather poppy song. Thanks in advance.

Well it all depends on how well you can hold down the beat, how well your chord changes are and if theirs anyone looking for one. I would say no since it's only been 4 weeks but it's up to you really.
Does anyone know if they're planning on releasing GH 1+2 for the Wii? I would really hope so.
What the hell happened to this thing. I'm guessing they discontinued it, but I would imagine there's got to be some plans to have the thing reissued or something, that thing was sweet. If anyone has any information on this It would greatly be appreciated.
So I've been wondering for a while now, what if I put a bridge humbucker in the neck???? Any Ideas of how that would sound. Keep in mind that the other hb would also be a bridge to. Also could I put Gibson P-94's where seymour duncans where installed previously??
Well when I first by an album I listen to it the whole way through two or three times through before i start skipping around on the cd, also i like to listen to my ipod.
I'm a victim......
Streetlight manifesto putting those snippets up is like give a crack addict a small rock.....Once it's started I want more......god I can't wait for this album it's going to be so good.
I thought dunlop did cry baby's.
I tried that, perhaps the quotation marks threw it off.
I don't know who sings it, what it's called, or much of the words. But I hear it on classic rock stations all the time. It sounds like an 80's song and the only words I know are "We'll make our dream come true". I think it's a scorpions song. Sorry I don't know much more about it but please help if you can.

That sick.. You're having sex with a cold corpse which is developing worms from the dead organs. The blood is cold, the vagina is cold..
I say, you gotta have to be REALLY ****ing insane to do that

Not unless you dig up a fresh one.
Does anyone know when epiphone is putting out the New Nick Valensi Riviera. I know it's made it's debut out at NAMM but what the hell, when will the public get to try it???
Ah but you're all forgetting to answer one question. Which version of Keasbey Nights do you like better? Catch 22's or Streetlight Manifesto's???? I see plenty of people love SM over Catch 22. but not the answer i was looking for.
I've read in a couple of articles that Keasbey Nights and Everything Goes Numb is a part of a ska trilogy that Tomas Kalnoky is working on. I also know about the similarities between these tow albums but, i was wondering if anyone really know the story line. I know that RBF did something like this about a bands journey from underground to mainstream and falling out of mainstream. So is it something like that. Also is it popular for ska bands to do things like this? And finally which version of KN did you like better Catch 22's or Streerligh Manifestos?
I recently picked up Cream Disraeli Gears and SRV Texas Flood.
Did they discontinue that. I think they did because whenever i got to epiphones website i don't see it anymore. But i just got an email from musicians friend saying that they're on sale, and they're not the Elitists. What the hell is going on????
