I got the Galaxy Nexus about two weeks ago and, no matter how many trips to the doctor, I just can't seem to stop orgasming since.
Just got a bit of their stuff from one of my friends. "I Saw A Behemoth and It Ruled," "Crybaby," "210B," "I Ate My Gluestick," "Love Your Friends, Die Laughing," and "Absolute Worst" are pretty decent songs. Not a band that would be my favorite, but definitely good for a few tunes.
I'll sign up. (also, it's been ages since I've posted. ) My ex broke up with me back in November, 6 days short of our 3-year anniversary, but I'm going to lunch with a girl tomorrow who I haven't seen in awhile. I'm not saying there's interest, but if it goes well, who knows? So I think it's a reasonable goal.
I feel like I should be playing Megaman X when I hear this, and that is by NO means a bad thing. This is just beautifully epic. Normally anything "hardcore" I shy away from, but this was actually quite beautiful and melodic. The beginning was soothing enough to lead the listener in, but the lead fast enough to hint at what was coming next. and the transition into the heavy intro was just awesome. The funky verse sounded a tad weird in parts, but overall sounded good for being different than the rest of the song.

And when the slap bass comes in in "Mmm Layers..." just awesome. And the clean guitar in the background. Just so badass. The riffin' part was also awesome. I prefered the parts where the melodic chords landed on beats, not the lead lines in between, but that's just because of my musical preference. The chorus was great. The creepy part afterward seemed a bit strange, but not necessarily bad. It adds some nice flavor. And the funky riff was unexpected to happen again, but I enjoyed it. XD

I hate saying this, but there isn't too much to improve. You made a piece in a genre I don't really like that I enjoyed quite thoroughly. I praise, you sir.

If you'd like to C4C me, this is the one I've just posted. Here you go, sir. But really any of my pieces feel free to do as well, I'll try to match you crit for crit if you do/if you want. I don't do hardcore stuff, though. XD.
Holy Bajeebus it's been forever since I've posted in T&C. I hope everyone's been doing well <3.

Anyhow, I was looking through my old files and saw this in there and realized I never posted this on here. I love the sound and feel of the song, (and that I got a nontraditional key change in there, which I find difficult to do without it sounding weird, but I think I pulled it off) and it's only finished through the first chorus, but I was just hoping to get some opinions on what is there.

It's optimized for RSE in Guitar Pro 5, as are all of my songs. I think it sounds okay if you tinker with the settings well, and I like how I have the tracks all set up with lows/mids/highs.

C4C as always, it's been awhile, and I miss critiquing stuff. Opens me up to new things, and I love it.

Anyway, thanks for any responses.

EDIT: Here are the lyrics so far for those using the MIDI. They're also in the file in Guitar Pro, on the vocal track.

Whatever this is ain't working
It's best I stay alert and out of touch this time
I can't say that I haven't wanted to scream
It's been forever since I've done that
I can't say I'm not splitting at the seams
It's been forever since that's started

I know you
[Just trying to help, I'm just trying to help]
You're killing me
[Just stop, no, just stop, no, just stop]

Not much, but like I said, it's not very far done. XD
I'm newly single, so... a lot.
I saw "day9" and thought this was about Starcraft 2 and Day[9].
I've noticed in the past few months that the UG news articles have gone from straight-fact saying to implying certain bands are bad simply because the overall UG community doesn't like them (I.E. comparing unsuccessful bands to Nickelback), and really it has gotten quite old. I'm sorry if this isn't an appropriate topic, but this seemed like the place to post it. I just believe it's a bit tacky that whoever it is that writes the articles likes to suck up to what the mass commenters are going to say. I believe I'd speak for most people when I say let the peanut gallery discuss whatever it wants, and let the articles just say the facts.
Hey! Dead topic!

Are we doing a Yahoo! fantasy league?
The fantasy topic is dead (I'll post in it as well) but are we planning on doing a UG fantasy league, on Yahoo! or something?
I'm sorry if I posted this in the wrong forum.

I recorded myself playing the bit that I know:

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/14474735/70ssong.mp3

It's a '70s song or something, or at least the context it's used in is ALWAYS '70s or '60s lovemaking. XD.

It's been driving me CRAZY.

Thanks for all responses!

I disagree

Phone Booth was a PHENOMINAL movie.

On topic: Nic Cage is the only one that I really can think of. Anna Faris as well.

I like Tom Cruise. >_> Tom Cruise vs. Hitler (known as Valkyrie in some areas of the world) was pretty iffy, but in general he's pretty good. Watch Knight and Day. THAT movie was awesome.
I'd like to see Clausen get good. Sadly, it just doesn't always happen.

As long as Tebow gets good someday I'll be happy.

Oh yes. I forgot about them.
^DUDE! How'd you get to meet him?

I live like 20 minutes away from Western Michigan University and he went to college there. My girlfriend is a student there and managed to snag a media pass for his homecoming celebration. Soooo she was able to sneak us backstage with like... 13 other people to hang out with him for a few minutes and get pictures and stuff. It was LUH-GIT.

Guess who just met Greg Jennings?

(the weird looking dorky adult is my dad)
Can someone point out some of the best Radiohead songs? The only song by them I legitimately know is "Creep" and I always hear everyone praise them for being so amazing. I have Pablo Honey and OK Computer, but I don't really know where to start.
The Luck of Eden Hall is a Chicago-based indie band that's been on-and-off since like 1992. They actually played quite a few shows with the Smashing Pumpkins way back then, they used to be on the same label before the Pumpkins were big, and they've stayed small and indie basically ever since. I think they've only really stayed in the Chicago area for the most part, but I want to know if anyone else has heard of them before. They released an album back in 1993, one in 2009, and one somewhere in between, XD. I think like 2003.

Actually, their guitarist/singer is my... well. My dad's ex-step cousin. But they're really close so essentially he's like an uncle.

So I know they're small but UG gets quite a few people, I was wondering if anyone else has seen them live or heard of them?

I had the vikings going bowling. Goes to show how much i know.

To be fair, I don't think ANYONE saw the following teams doing what they did, good or bad:

Vikings sucking balls. Semi-surprise.

Cowboys. Honestly, I was surprised.

49ers. They seemed to be looking good. Wrong.

Rams. Sure, better, but not THIS much better.

Chiefs. Winning the division? With the Chargers in that division?

Raiders. Competing for the division?

Lions. 4 game win streak to close the season?

Eagles. Vick exploding like he did?

BENGALS SUCKING AS MUCH AS THEY DID.

I wish the Bengals did better.

You haven't heard of Bowe? He led the league in TDs IIRC, he's been a good receiver his whole career.

Of course I have, but I didn't remember who it was. I didn't even see the Chiefs helmet. *shrug*
Last-ditch play with like 35 seconds left, Cassel threw to some receiver I don't know, who almost got tackled and then just tossed it back to Mack [defenders didn't stop him], Mack powered his way to the end zone.
Yeah, the size thing is weird. I know Cyrodiil is a pretty sizable portion of Tamriel , but it seems traversable VERY quickly. So I think that as far as how easy/quickly it was to walk across in Oblivion isn't quite accurate of how big it really is...

I want to start reading up on lore before this game comes out. Maybe mid October I'll start getting really in-depth.
YEEEEEEAAAAHHHHHH!

We Superb Owl now!
Yeah, we've known this for a few days now, if not a week. XD.

I'll agree that Packers offense > Bears offense. Packers D vs the Bears? Don't think so.
Steelers>Jets. Ya probably. It's the playoffs. Shit happens.
But ya probably Steelers vs Packers
Steelers 35 Pack 3

Steeler's secondary has NOTHING on the Pack's receiving corps. They can't cover Jennings, Driver, Jones, Nelson and Quarless. And Lee. Yes, they have Polamalu. But he's only one man.

As for Packers vs. Bears D, The Bears D will probably take away most of the running game, but the Packers are way more consistent. They can take away the run AND have a RIDICULOUS secondary. Besides some occasional hiccups, they're legit. Bears secondary is nothing special.

We're getting ahead of ourselves aren't we?
Chicago and NY might want to crash the party.

The Jets won't beat the Steelers. Rex Ryan drew up some CRAZY defensive schemes, but the Jets offense also played a Pats defense that really is pretty average. The Steelers defense should crush them. I expect the Jets to get no more than 14 points. But the Steelers offense better produce consistently.

As for the Packers/Bears, one of the most epic and prophesized matchups in history on the biggest possible stage... Well, Packers offense > Bears offense, Packers defense > Bears defense.
Just gonna say this right now.

Packers 27
Steelers 21
Tramon Williams is gonna be all over Roddy White. Why? Because everyone underestimates Tramon, and that allows Woodson to do other things besides cover White, like blitz, which he's amazing at. Williams will cover White just fine, and I wouldn't be surprised if he gets an INT.
Ravens over Steelers. Very low scoring game, ugly, physical, defense dominating.

Pats over Jets. Jets had to find a way to beat Indy, who aren't as good as New England. It'll resemble the 2nd matchup this season.

Seahawks over Bears. I don't buy the Bears, and Seattle SPANKED Nawlins. And they SPANKED Chicago earlier in the season. They'll either do awesome, or horribly.

Packers over Atlanta. Atlanta won't sneak away with a win this time. Expect 3-4 touchdowns from Green Bay and 2 or so from Atlanta. The Packer defense is picking up.
YYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Man, that was one stressful game.
Man. Gotta give it to the Seahawks.... Wow. Lynch's run was awesome.
I think they look okay, but the lack of apps would concern me.

Droid ftw.
I joined the playoff thing. It should be obvious who I am.

EDIT: Anyone else see Mike Wallace's fauxhawk? My god. XD
I like 16 and Pregnant. >_>

Some people say it "glorifies pregnancy." Hell no, it shows you how much it sucks.

Damn it's a shame the Packers couldn't play as well as they did tonight throughout the season. I like playoff games at Lambeau

No doubt they are a better team than the Bears should win next week (Bears got no reason to play hard anyway). Could Rodgers post back to back 400 yard games? I think he might. He'd join the elite company of Dan Fouts, Dan Marino and Phil Simms. Also Billy Volek and Matt Cassel

Interestingly 918 of Volek's career 3,746 yards came in his two consecutive 400 yard games.

The Bears should want to play hard.

Even if they know we're better, if they don't play hard, they GIVE us a playoff spot, thus a chance to play and beat them IN the playoffs. If they fight hard tomorrow and by chance keep us out, then they don't risk playing us.

is this what it feels like to be a mets fan?

the giants are so unclutch

Payback for that championship game.

Take it like a man.

Except this one isn't a championship game. So we still owe you.
I love my Packers.

Next week's game is going to be a REALLY good game at this rate. Probably a shootout.
I dunno. I feel like there's some sort of theme of... epicness or grandeur among them or something. Words that imply being larger than life or something.

This isn't about if they're good or bad names. >_>
Has anyone noticed a sort of common theme or feel about a lot of today's newer bands? Mostly in the hardcore/punk/alternative ish kinda category. I'm not really sure what genres to put them in, but bands like...

Four Year Strong
A Day to Remember
New Found Glory
Forever the Sickest Kids
Secret Lives! of the Freemasons
All Time Low
The Academy Is...
Armor for Sleep
Escape the Fate

Okay, so their genres aren't all the same at all, but.... I feel like there's some sort of common theme among them for some reason. I can't really put my finger on what it is, though. Has anyone else noticed this/can anyone else help me figure out what the heck it is? XD
The Giants-Packers game could be the best one this weekend. A rested Aaron Rodgers help us fight for our playoff lives against a Giants team who's doing the exact same, looking for redemption after they crashed last week. And memories of the NFC Championship will be abound [too bad Rodgers had nothing to do with it].

After what we did against the Patriots WITHOUT Rodgers... I'm almost scared what damage we may cause. We dropped like 3 KEY interceptions last week, but... we're a good learning and adjustment team.
Normally I fucking HATE Pop Evil, but their new song "Last Man Standing" is pretty good.

I can't figure out how to play the main riff and can't find tabs anywhere that has tabs for it, though. There's one like 4-note section of it that mesmerizes me, but I can't figure it out.
