Ehh tell me what you think? I think it looks bad ass personally. Took forever to draw...

Since you're deathmetal/cybergrind I figured the grindcore style would go good, and it's my specialty

name: fourth degree murder
style: death metal/metal

thanks!!

Let me know what you think.
Ahhh man I love it. Love it love it. I can't wait for more
I use a behringer V-amp pro in my rig. And the other guitarist in my band uses a Digitech something. The new one. I'm too lazy to look it up. We both use those with power amps and crate Gt412 cabinets, and the mesa emulations sound the same for both of us with them, and I've played with people who use Triple rectifiers by Mesa, and I honestly sound very very close to them. Plus, both of these preamps have tons of other features and emulations.

Edit: alright the digitech is the GSP1101
Hey guys, I really know nothing about different woods for guitars. I was wondering though, is Maple a heavy wood for a solid-body? I have an Alder, Basswood, and whatever the hell PRS guitars are made out of, but no idea what Maple would be like. Just wondering. (Weight and Tone-wise I guess.)
Yeah, it's camphor laurel. Theres a few sites with steel guitars made out of it I guess. I didn't do much research. But if you can make a lap guitar out of it, I'm sure it's solid enough and has decent tonal qualities.
Hey man, never replied to me asking how you did the design on the fretboard?
Did you just paint that stuff on the fretboard?

I think the paint job on the guitar is awesome, by the way. And the reverse killswitch is an out-there idea, kind of cool. Great job I think.

So I'm pretty much at a loss of being able to do this myself. I'm in a new band, and we need a logo. Just straight text, no background images or anything. Just the writing. If anyone would like to do that

Name: Dead are Judged
Genre: Death Metal/Black Metal/Thrash

Design: Something insane and evil looking, black, white, and red. Black background, red text with white border, or whatever. Just something dark. An example would be something like some of Suicide Silence's logos, or Job For a Cowboy, etc. Something deathy and wicked. Please. Very much appreciated.

Thanks, hope someone finds the time :P

Which, I told you, is not what I want to do. So I'm going to open it up and wire another jack into it. So PFFT thanks for NO ADVICE AT ALLL MANNN
Oh ok. But everyone is still failing to see what I'm asking. I want to use BOTH CHANNELS AT THE SAME TIME IN ONE CABINET. There has to be a way to do that. I don't just want 40 watts, I want all of it. In one cabinet. Does that make sense or no?
Quote by Reincaster
Don't use a y splitter to send two signals into one cab. The wire in the splitter is not thick enough to handle that.

It says right there on the page:

You can use channel 1 by itself.

Call me crazy, but that's not what that means. Speaker cable is low-grade instrument cable. And instrument cable sounds exactly like speaker cable when used AS speaker cable. So I don't see the problem in that.

But they're mono jacks. And that's not what I mean at all. I mean I want to have all the power to one channel. I know you can control each channel individually. Mono jack just means it's a mono output, and there are two of them, thus making it stereo. But it doesn't say if it has the option to mix it all to one channel. Which is what I want to do.

So, again, will the Y splitter feed power back into the amp or something and blow everything in my rack up?
Hey. I just bought a Mesa/Boogie triple rectifier Pre-amp for live use. I'm low on cash now, as you would imagine after buying that :P

But anyway. I'm going to start building a rack setup. Because that's the direction i want to go. So, I need a PA. I don't want to use a regular PA, because I don't think it has the right dynamics and frequency response that a guitar PA would have. So I'm buying this:

http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Rocktron-Velocity-100-Power-Amp-?sku=480118

And here is my problem, I've looked and looked, but I can't find information on if it has a mono feature, instead of two outputs. If you can just use one. My cab only has one speaker input. Seeee the dilemma?

So, if I get it, and it turns out that it DOES NOT have a mono channel, or a mono switch to feed everything to channel 1, would I be able to use something like this:
http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Monster-Cable-14-Female-Stereo-to-2-14-Male-Mono-YAdapter?sku=330056
?

Alright so that's my question. If it doesn't have a mono-button or mono output to combine channels, can I just use a Y splitter to the speaker? Any advice (Besides get a different amp) would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Whee.
Possessed. Pioneers of deathmetal, heavier than heavy. Larry LaLonde used an all black one through his whole run with them
"I bet I'm a better player than you, I can play enter sandman."
Then guess what he did. He placed his fingers correctly, but didn't pick, he strummed. He ****ing strummed the intro riff to enter sandman.
I took his guitar away from him and showed him how it's supposed to be played, and then added an improved solo. He said:
"That solo was way off" and then he started playing a strumming version if Iron Man. >_< Jesus Christ I hate people.
Vocals: Axl Rose
Lead Guitar: Larry LaLonde
Rhythm Guitar: Izzy Stradlin
Bass: Les Claypool
Drums: Tim Alexander

Ehh I guess it's Primus with GNR...
Haha. Larry LaLonde gave me a few Primus picks and a neck wrench for my PRS truss rod
Larry LaLonde. I worship him nightly with a statue I constructed of him in my closet.
My uncle buys random crap off ebay all the time, and he bought that exact same guitar. He brought it to my house to show me and we played I played it through my AD100VTH and it didn't sound too bad. It sounded... crunchy I guess would be the word. Not really smooth, obviously a wood guitar would sound better. But it actually wasn't too bad. The pickups didn't sound like SD's though...
It's actually spelled tremolo. But the trem you get really doesn't matter if you have locking tuners or a locking nut. And that would be a nice addition to your 'frankenstrat' I would imagine.

Local HardCore bands don't count dosche

Well neither do underground crappy alternative bands, douche.

yeah.

the MG was first released by Park. a company to marshall like squire is to fender. it didn't sell. so they the rebranded it, "park: by marshall."

still didn't sell.

so they started selling them with the "marshall" logo.

sellin like hot cakes.

What a terribly inefective marketing strategy!
All 3 in November Rain (GN'R) and then I have to go with a second here... And I definitely say Jerry was a Racecar driver (Primus) for that.

you realize that piezos are rarely big enough to do more than one string? it's a whole lot better long term to wire a driver for it- you can get most of the stuff at radio shack. the wire, at least.

Mmm what do you mean. Do more than one string? The piezo acts as a distortion to the pickup itself, not the string. So there is no physical influence upon the string, it's just going through the piezo to create a noise filter. As far as I understand it. An actual driver or speaker, however, is magnetic and will influence the pickup itself and not just the output of the pickups.

Nifty of you to point out
Yeah sorry I seemed rude I was just in a rush to figure it out. I read pretty much everything about it on the forum last night and I'm heading over to radioshack today to pick up the parts. Anyway it seems like it's gonna be pretty cool, I'm going to wire it with a headphone speaker and a piezo buzzer. And just have a switch between them to change which one. Even if the sustain enhancement isn't as expected, It'll still be something bizzarre and cool to have on my strat.

you should find your answer in the 202 pages of this thread.

Well thanks a pantload, Chet. Chya..

Well I guess simple questions and maybe conversation pieces are too much for people to handle?
I like to consider myself pretty hand with electronics and such, but this one has me stumped. It's either the dumbest non-working thing that I could possibly do, or it will do something mildly cool. I really don't understand the concept, though it seems simple enough. Here's the link:

http://projectguitar.com/tut/sustainer.htm

I'm assuming the open ends on the speaker are just wired to the leads of whatever pickup you're using it on? If I did do this, I would have a toggle switch to turn it on.

Anyway, no idea, but it seems like another cool thing to add to the beast I've been working on for about a month now.
Larry LaLonde. By far. I personally consider him the greatest guitarist ever. Many will dissaggree, but most people probably don't even know who he is. He's was in Possessed, and has been in Primus since 89'. I think he's absolutely amazing, but get's no attention because of the nature of the the band as being "weird" or "underground". Also, when people think of Primus they think of Les Claypool, a Bass god of course, but Larry lives in his shadow. No idea why he's so underrated. Check out Seven Churches (Possessed) and in my opinion Larry does his best Primus guitar work in Frizzle Fry and Tales from the Punchbowl. My friend dissaggrees and says Sailing the Seas of Cheese has the best guitar work, but whatever.

Freaking Ler rules.
Anyone located near Northern california that wants to be in a serious thrash/heavy metal fusion band? EHHH? EHHHHHHHHHH?
Heh.. Move up the state to near nevada..
Pigsnot, Twisty, Vibasoar, Deluxio... **** if I know.

That seems kind rude to me, man. "I hate your music, but tab out your guitar parts, now."
