Playing Harmonica and Guitar Together
7
A basic lesson for playing the guitar and harmonica at the same time. You will need a neck brace that holds the harp while playing.

These guitar chord groups are relevant to the "Key" that the Harmonica is in. It is helpful if you are familiar with the harmonica and with barre chords. The guitar chords work best when they are mixed up, left out, turned around and given appropriate structure, some 7ths and 9ths can add flavour within each group too.

This definitely helped me as I play harmonica and guitar but have always had a hard time figuring which of the many harps I have to use so I've been playing it by ear for years now!!! Again Thanks my brother!!

Good stuff. Very helpful for us guys that prefer spending our limited jam time jamming instead of studying.

thanks TheSweeney. This is exactly what I've been looking for to help me connect with my brother who plays harp. He doesn't know music theory and neither do I but the lesson will help us play together. Great stuff !

Just trying to help no need to get defensive. Yes it may be nit picky, but some people will read 2 lines in and think that either 1. You don't know what you're talking about, or 2. You're too lazy to care which is even worse. Going the extra mile is what separates half-ass musicians from good musicians, don't subject yourself to being a fraction of your potential.

LMFAO correct, nit-picking it definitely was but you do yourself in in the last sentence when eliciting correction/clarification which I was happy to give. I wrote this blog out with the intention of engaging with worthy recipients/learners not blah blah blah with nit picking 'Trolls'. Don't subject yourself to be a faction without potential. Nothing's really wrong with half-assed as you term it but I prefer half-baked as most are hopefully learning for as long as they live and what one considers half empty, another considers half full. Talent is a dish best served by contributing and not by trivialisations.

Blues guitarists and harmonica players would/should all understand ie. the A harmonica (and on incrementally through the rest of the keys) does suit a Bmin7, definitely the Bm and a B7 always. Some people have to put in they're 2 cents worth even when the know f-all and contribute even less, ped-antics eh!

Any seasoned vet will know what you mean due to enharmonic tones but you're just going to confuse beginners who will think they can just skip over notes and use the same letter twice. Also your chords on some are wrong but I'll leave them alone in case by some weird effing reason harmonica players switch between major 7 and minor 7 for no reason.
