Randy Blythe Talks iPad Music Project: 'I'm Gonna Make It Sound Mega-Tits!'
Lamb of God vocalist Randy Blythe shared fresh info regarding his newly-announced "iPad music project" featuring Testament guitarist Alex Skolnick. Described as somewhat of a leisure project, the collaboration clearly got Blythe excited, as he's planning to make new tunes sound "mega-tits" through massive sonic experimentation. "I think I'm gonna make some really wacked-out music on my iPad, since it's super portable and I can record anywhere," the singer posted on his Instagram profile. "I'm gonna record it in Cubasis, then mix it in Auria. I'm gonna use a Moog emulator and a bunch of other weird synths, like Thor from Reason. I'm gonna get a condenser mic that runs off a USB hub and record screwed up ambient sounds from a tour I'm on, then load them into the iPad as samples as well." Randy continued, "I'm gonna make it as weird as I want it to be, because I don't care if anyone likes it except me. Then I'm gonna try and find a world class jazz and metal guitarist and see if he wants to do weird tracks. Just for fun. Then I'm gonna get all this stuff together with a few other people as guests, & I'm gonna make it sound mega-tits!" The singer concluded his post, sharing a photo of Skolnick jamming out in the lounge studio. "I may or may not release it, depending on how I feel," he said. "Or I may just rock it in my truck. Because I'm making it for fun. Where can I find the guitarist I need? Oh wait - I know one. Skolnick killing it in the back lounge studio. Life is good and music and friends are beautiful." During a separate Metal Injection chat, frontman Matt Heafy and bassist Paolo Gregoletto of Trivium and Dream Theater axeman John Petrucci independently agreed that iPhone is the best invention ever created. Asked on the given subject, Gregoletto commented: "Yeah, probably iPhone now," just to have Heafy chip in. "It makes it amazing for a band - you can find whatever you need, you can stay in touch with loved ones no matter where you are in the world or you can find ladies to meet if you're not looking for a loved one," Matt said. Petrucci shared the guys' opinion, saying, "I think that iPhone is pretty much up there with one of the best for sure." Check out the clip below to see what inventions other prominent metallers opted to pick. But back to Blythe's iPad music - how do you think it might turn out? Share your thoughts in the comments.
