The Ballad Of Jacob Fraser. Part 1
It was 10:52 p.m, I remember the time exactly. It was a cold evening in Buffalo, fall was turning into winter, and I was trying to think of lyrics for a song. Just one lyric. Nothing. I was too busy scratching my head to notice that my brother had walked into my room. Some important information is that my brother has an extreme case of autism, makes it hard for him to communicate socially. He had always been interested in music, mine in particular. He came up behind and asked what i was doing. I told him that i was writing a song, and he immediately perked up. "I have some lyrics. Do you want to see them?", he asked. I said sure, and he ran back into the hallway. A few minutes later, he came back, holding a sheet of paper. He handed it to me, and ran away again. I read the lyrics over, and couldn't believe how good they were. I also couldn't believe the side of my sweet, innocent brother i was seeing. "Isolated from everything, only I know what torture that brings." It made me shiver, thinking about how my brother felt. As much as I felt sorry for him, one thought overpowered them all: LYRICS!!! I figured out the music within the hour, and recorded it at 3:00a.m on GarageBand. The next morning, I gave it a listen, thought it sounded good enough, and posted it on YouTube. The only problem was them name. I couldn't figure out a name, and my brother hadn't put a name on it. But just like the night before at 10:52, just like my brother had come to me, so did the name. I posted it on YouTube entitled "The Ballad Of Jacob Fraser", after my brother.
