Ultimate-Guitar's St. Patrick's Day Playlist
So, St. Patrick's Day is upon us once again. And, as it is customary to celebrate the heritage and the culture of the Irish, Ultimate-Guitar has put together a playlist of some of our favorite rock acts to herald from the Emerald Isle.

So crank your stereo up to 11, pour yourself a pint of Guinness, and celebrate with these classic tunes:

Rory Gallagher - "Bullfrog Blues"

Jimi Hendrix was once asked how it felt to be the best guitarist in the world. He responded with "I don't know, go ask Rory Gallagher." High praise indeed, but utterly deserved, as this raucous performance of "Bullfrog Blues" shows.

Thin Lizzy - "The Boys Are Back in Town"

Thin Lizzy are undoubtedly one of the best rock acts of their generation, with their popularization of the twin guitar sound having a lasting impact on rock music. There are many Lizzy songs we could have chosen for this list, but the band's signature anthem "The Boys Are Back in Town" seemed like a fitting choice for St. Patrick's Day.

Stiff Little Fingers - "Alternative Ulster"

Stiff Little Fingers have often been described as Ireland's answer to The Clash because of their incendiary politicized punk rock. Named after a Belfast music fanzine, "Alternative Ulster" is a standout track from the group's debut album, "Inflammable Material."

Them - "Gloria"

Them was the band that would launch Van Morrison into the limelight. Their signature tune, "Gloria," written by Van Morrison at the tender age of 18, is a blast of charged garage rock that could go on for up to 20 minutes in a live setting. We've stuck with the three minute single version for this playlist...

Gary Moore - "Still Got the Blues"

Like Rory Gallagher, Gary Moore was one of Ireland's great guitar heroes. While a number of his hard rock and jazz-fusion numbers could have made the list here, we've gone with the title track from his 1990 electric blues album "Still Got the Blues" as it shows off his guitar mastery.
