A Perfect Circle Album Went Platinum

A Perfect Circle's sophomore album, "Thirteenth Step", was certified platinum on March 24, 2006 by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) for shipments in excess of one million copies, reports Blabbermouth.net. Released in September 2003, "Thirteenth Step" was described by MP3.com as "a moodier, tenser, and more atmospheric (if that is possible) recording" than A Perfect Circle's 2001 debut, "Mer de Noms". In a recent interview with France's Rock Hard magazine, APC frontman Maynard James Keenan -- who is about to release a new album with his main band, Tool -- revealed that A Perfect Circle has likely reached the end of the road as a touring and recording entity. Asked what the future holds for A Perfect Circle, Maynard said, "I think it's over," before adding, "We pushed this project as far as it could go, and I see ourselves playing again together only in a few years to make one or two songs, nothing more."

Awesome, that albums amazing. Oh, and I like their cover of Imagine. I like it way more than John Lennon's version. What the hell are you gonna do about it?

Alright, Let me try and clear some stuff up. RockMusicFan said that Maynard is prolly going to end it becuase he wants to release more tool albums quicker. Well, I don't believe that's the case.. because it always takes tool 10000 years too release an album. They don't wanna be a band that release's albums after every year becasue they say "It's like being a bad cover band of yourself." So they just take breaks to get inspired and stuff. So, I don't think Tool will be breaking up after 10,000 day's becasue i've heard the album, and it is a work of art. As for APC, Maynard said inthe thing that they'll still release a couple songs and stuff.. soo sit tight.

APC is amazing but I'm actually guessing this means that maynard is looking to do a different side project rather than APC. I wouldn't be surprised if it ended up being that 'tapeworm' collaboration with Trent Reznor that he talks about a lot.

The APC's version of Imagine is much darker though; I like that verison better.

Anybody know who originally wrote "The Nurse Who Loved Me" from 13th Step?

A band called Failure I believe, unless their version happened to be a cover as well.

13th step is my favourite album aftre Aenima and lateralus and soon probably 10kD. Its a shame they are breaking up.

If Tool was breaking up after 10000 days, it wouldn't be anytime soon. (Guessing we don't have any math geniuses here...)

Okay who ever said that TOOL and APC are over rated should shut their mouth. They make great music, meaningful music. Its terrible for the millions of fans around that APC might split up. TOOL should never split up, they are favorite band, they are amazing and THE NEW SINGLE RULES !!!

yeah, i agree with this guy ^. but in the guitar world artical with adam jones he said they were closer now than ever so i don't think tool will break up.

oh, and there is so much structure to imagine. the lennon version had no structure what so ever. apc made that song 30 times better.

^ignore that... for some reason my other post didn't show up so i did it again. if a mod could delete that and this as well... cheers

    roo6339
what?! i was hoping he'd do another album once 10 000 days was released... Tool's splitting after 10 000 days aren't they? that's what they said when they started recording. so no more tool, no more apc... maynard better find somewhere else to go!

They are awesome!! I've heared "Imagine" covered by them And of course "Mer De Noms" rocks!!
    MAYNARD
Tool isnt breakin up. They have one more album left on their contract, then maybe. Danny, Adam, and Justin all wanna keep it goin, and as long as they enjoy themselves, they are gonna do it. I dont see them skippin out of the last record on a deal.
    MAYNARD
Oh yeah, Adam says there is gonna be at least one more album. Sooner than the average Tool album too.
    roo6339
isn't tool breaking up after touring for 10 000 days as well? so that's no tool and no perfect circle. i really hope maynard finds another project!
    RockMusicFan
Tool is not going anywhere. Maynard is probably ending APC so that they can release Tool albums faster than usually. They're all getting old.

If A Perfect Circle is gonna break up, I wonder if Billy Howerdell is gonna go back to being Adam Jones' guitar tech

Their cover of "Imagine" was awful. No one should touch that song, it was done perfectly the first time.

You're absolutely right! No one should EVER cover that song! Only thing worse than Perfect Circle's cover of "Imagine" was Madonna's cover of it!

Thirteenth Step is one of my all-time favorite albums. It's so good from front to back. It'll really be a shame if they break up after this. And I wouldn't buy into Tool breaking up, there are rumors of that happening all the time with them.
    Asago
oh well.. they where like only... my all time favourite band ever.. so... FUUUUUXXXXXKKKKK NNNNNOOOOO!!!!! PLEASE DON'T!

Don't these talkin' monkeys know that Eden has enough to around? How they survive, so misguided, is a mystery.

Dude, the band was founded by the guitarist, billy. so APC will still go on, mabey just without maynard
