Against Me! bassist Andrew Seward has quit the band, NME reports.

The split comes after 10 years in the Florida punk band, who are fronted by Laura Jane Grace, with Seward leaving on amicable terms. Posting a statement on the band's official website, the bassist wrote: "No drama here. I reached a point where I need to focus on other things. Respect to Laura and James Bowman. The last 10 years ruled!"

Speaking about her now former bandmate, Laura Jane Grace added: "It's heartbreaking to know that Andrew won't be standing next to me out on stage the next time I stand upon one. I realize that at this point there's a possibility that it may look pretty ridiculous to carry on playing under the name Against Me! If I didn't feel like I had something that I really needed to say with the album we've been working on for the past year then I'd humbly hang the hat and move on. Andrew's been a solid partner. Some of the best sleep I've ever gotten has been in the back of a 15 passenger van with him behind the wheel. He's got a steady hand and has always been someone I've trusted. The definition of a good friend. I wish him all the best in his journey."

Seward is the second band member to leave in the past six months and has been playing with Against Me! since 2002, first appearing on the band's 2003 album "As the Eternal Cowboy." Drummer Jay Weinberg announced that he was leaving the band in December 2012.

This sucks - I really liked Andrew and he had good chemistry with the others in the band. But I don't put too much stock into Laura's statements about hanging up the AM! name. Laura is Against Me! - it's her songwriting and singing that really drive the band. And James' lead playing and impeccable harmonies will still be there. Honestly it does suck to see this group struggling and I have no doubt that the stress from Laura's gender transition has probably caused some of these problems. But I think the fact that she's also taken it upon herself to produce the album has really slowed them down too. She's just taken on more than she can handle at once

Underrated band. Their songs make sense. Unfortunately, they're starting to sell their souls out. Damn! "You're a slave to money then you die..."

This is a bum out. Hopefully they don't push back the album another year to redo his tracks like when Jay Weinberg quit recently.

So she took over production causing it to slow down. A man who became a woman but kept the man sized ego?

Taking over production does not equal ego. Also man sized ego? I'll have you know that girls can more than match men's egos.
