A full-scale metal tribute to Michael Jackson has been released today, covering every track from "Thriller" in its entirety. Musicians from bands including Guns N' Roses, Asking Alexandria, Motorhead, Kiss, Iron Maiden, Testament and Alien Ant Farm appear on the 13-track record. Producer Bob Kulick masterminded the record which features a pretty awesome lineup of metal artists. "We made these awesome songs kick ass while still being faithful to the original versions," he said. "Add killer players like Doug Aldrich, Billy Sheehan, Bruce Kulick, Rudy Sarzo, Tony Franklin, Craig Goldy, Bumblefoot, Phil Campbell and you've got some real MAGIC!" Bassist Tony Franklin who has worked with everyone from Jimmy Page to David Gilmour said: "The first thing I noticed was how easily these out and out pop songs translated to the metal genre. That is the sign of, one, a great song and, two, a great production and arrangement … it was very cool to see how the guest artists interpreted these songs as it brought out a different side of them - a side we wouldn't usually hear." Full tracklist (via Blabbermouth): 01. Thriller - Chuck Billy (Testament) 02. Man In The Mirror - Danny Worsnop (Asking Alexandria) & Billy Sheehan (Mr. Big) 03. The Way You Make Me Feel - Angelo Moore (Fishbone), Doug Aldrich (Whitesnake), & Rudy Sarzo (Queensryche) 04. It would have been cool to hear a metal version of "Human Nature" though. Would have been interesting. But yeah...it was on the album, but left from this one.

Wasn't Paul Di'Anno the guy fag bashing on Dickonson's vocals? And now he's doing Michael Jackson covers? I bet he's a real "bad boy" at heart

What a disappointing POS this is. They actually put Tony Franklin and Lajon Witherspoon together on a song and I have to hate it? What bastards. The guitar playing on this is absolutely dreadful. Completely lifeless. Most of this isn't even metal. It's a bunch of dated, generic hard rock guitar riffs and licks that only vaguely sound like the MJ works being covered. The Icarus Witch track is the only one worth a damn on the entire album. If they'd gotten those guys to do all the instruments, then maybe this could have been good. At least they discovered how to make Paul Di'Anno sound like he's got a great voice: ...Place his track directly after Chris Jericho's.

I expected this album to be a killing, was sorta let down listening to it. Not saying its a bad tribute, but the genres they're mixing just don't go together. Maybe if they rewrote the songs into trash tracks without covering the song exactly like Michael plays it, then maybe I'd listen to it again.

I listened to samples on Amazon. Not a kingly tribute. And besides Phill Campbell- who are all those people?? Oh, right- a guy who worked WITH Jimmmy Page. And AAF- reheating their only one time hit- not even being their own. Did Jackson really deserve so little? Sad.

Lajon from Sevendust, Chuck from Testament, Corey from Living Colour, theirs don't sound too bad, kinda nice imo. Otherwise I'm personally not much for it, I like Asking Alexandria and that one with Danny doesn't sound great

    I wouldn't call many of them 'All-Stars'

Sadly, the only one of these that sounded any good was the Bad cover by Di'Anno, and it's just okay . The others are honestly tortuous and hard to listen to.

Really?Billy Sheehan is one hell of a bass player and deserves to be known. Rudy Sarzo was in Quiet Riot and Ozzy! Corey Glover is awesome, thanks to Living Colour also being awesome! I'm not even going to start on saying about how amazing Craig Goldy is.

damn I feel old now. I used to love the f*ck out of this cover. And the bassist needs to realize he's just a bassist and calm down.
