Rolling Stones were joined by Arcade Fire's frontman Win Butler during their last night Montreal performance, NME reports.

The Canadian indie rocker got on stage to provide vocals on "The Last Time" alongside Mick Jagger. The show appeared to be part of the band's 50 & Counting tour. Watch the video footage below.

Butler's participation in the gig was announced on the Rolling Stones' Twitter account prior to the show taking place.

Win joins a growing list of musicians who have appeared on stage with the Stones on this tour, including cameos from Taylor Swift, Tom Waits and Gwen Stefani. The band recently denied that Adele is set to join them when they return to London in July to play two shows at Hyde Park.

Arcade Fire are currently working on their fourth album, the follow-up to 2010's "The Suburbs," and have been recording with former LCD Soundsystem man James Murphy and long-time collaborator Markus Dravs.

Huh. Win looks really out of place here. Not a combo I would have ever dreamed up.
Yeah me neither, but I would also be crapping myself if I were performing with the Rolling Stones. So I don't really blame Win for being a bit nervous or awkward.
You'd be silly to turn down the chance to play with such legends, even if it is a weird choice.
