Swedish melodic death metal pioneers At The Gates have been confirmed for next year's edition of the Metaltown festival, set to take place June 17-18, 2011 in Gothenburg, Sweden.

The festival billing is shaping up as follows:

* System Of A Down * At The Gates * Cradle Of Filth * Parkway Drive * Raubtier

Commented At The Gates in a statement: "At The Gates will do a limited run of select shows in 2011. Simply put, we had the time of our lives during the 2008 reunion and have decided to do a couple of more shows. Although we won't be touring extensively, and we stick to the initial promise of not making any more music."

At The Gates' "The Flames Of The End" DVD was released on April 6 in the U.S. through Earache Records.

At The Gates released its definitive album, "Slaughter Of The Soul" often regarded as one of the all-time greatest metal albums on Earache in 1995, before touring the world and abruptly disbanding. Members of the band went on to play major roles in other notorious metal acts such as The Haunted and Cradle Of Filth, before reforming for a one-off tour in 2008 to rapturous response.

Thanks for the report to Blabbermouth.net.

That's what I thought, too... To me, At the Gates is the only band on that list worth seeing.

holy fish paste. this makes me want to go out into the misty forests of old in a black robe with a lantern and a wooden staff until I reach a small brook where I can dance with the village dwarfs where we recite incantations and spells to the mighty tyr. then we proceed to dance around a burning fire while playing pan flutes, large drums and lutes. then we will probably sacrifice something as an offering to the gods and we shall proceed back to village square in which everyone gathers to participate in some sort of black magic ritual. so yea, like i said.... holy fish paste.

The Tuska lineup is pretty sick so far...

Awesome. I bet you anything when they play, they'll end up loving it so much they'll do a world tour again. And I will be there, again.

Fuck you ATG for tempting me. You are my favorite band ever who can still tour, and to only plan a one-off in Gothenburg is unforgivable heresy.

Hopefully they'll decided to come to Scotland. Don't expect them to, but would be cool...

Now all they need to do is ditch the pop metal shows, and exclusively play stuff from "The Red In The Sky is Ours",come to Canada, and things will be great.

I got so excited for a minute, until I read that this will only take place in Gothenburg. This needs to come to somewhere in the Southeastern US so I can see it

I'm getting mixed emotions cuz of the Judas priest article and the fact they have Parkway Drive on the bill... DX

Same here man, their Bloodstock show was incredible. Made even more epic by it becoming night time just as their set started.
