That, according to an interview Sevendust's Morgan Rose did with Hartford's The Rock 106.9 WCCC. It's such a small world; I used to listen to this station all the time ten years ago, when they still had Howard Stern and I was working in Connecticut's state capital. Solid station. See the interview in a video, after the jump.

The other night, when the Music As A Weapon tour rolled through the Nutmeg State, Sevendust drummer Morgan Rose revealed that the band's got some big touring plans this year, even mentioning that they'll be on some sort of festival this summer, like Mayhem or Warped.

I don't even know if I'm really supposed to say this, but I think we're going to go and do a little run with Avenged Sevenfold, exclaimed Rose. I hope he was allowed to say that for Sevendust's sake, because slips like this lead to bands losing opening slots on tours.

Sevendust are also working on a new record, which Rose also spoke about with CCC.

Thanks for the report to Gunshyassassin.com.

And plus, Sevendust fans are extremely loyal. If you are going to stand around for the subpar act of A7X, the Sevendust fans will kick your ass out of the way. It's impossible to just "stand around" while Sevendust is playing, there's no other band I've seen live that matches their energy and stage presence. easily grasped
Agreed. If you're going to "stand around" while a band like Sevendust is playing their hearts out on stage, trying to make a name and a living for themselves. A band who's been around longer than A7X has, twice as much material, more creative players (arguably), but maybe isn't as popular as your precious A7X. If you're going to their show and blatantly disrespect them, you shouldn't be at the show in the first place. My rant is over.

I wish that A7X would come to Australia, they were the best band on the Soundwave lineup before they canceled.

"Chris Harris is an internationally-published music journalist and writer whose work has appeared on the pages of Rolling Stone, Revolver, Alternative Press, and Radar." so why does he write like sh*tballs?

Not sure what bands u were there to see but I saw em in vegas a couple months ago and it was unreal. Great guitar show. Here's a video. If you could fall asleep during this that's pretty hardcore man.

Yeah, it's never good to start a sentence with "That,...". It makes no sense right off the bat and then it's followed by terrible use of sentence structure, sentence fragmants, and improper use of a semicolon. An English professor would have a heart attack reading that. :p

They're headlining a tour right now. I just saw them last week. They played one or two more songs than usual, but I think it's safe to say we're never going to get more than an hour or an hour and 15 from those guys, which is also extremely disappointing.

Nahh, I've been going John Nash on this paragraph and I still can't understand a god damn thing of it. Now I'm a schizo. Anyways, not a big fan of Sevendust, but more Avenged is always good. I've seen them with Portnoy. I guess it's time for me to see the new drummer live. I just wish they toured with bands I listen to. Avenged Sevenfold and The Sword, anyone?

And holy shit! A new album! Already!? I don't know how they do it considering the amount of touring they do and now releasing an album not even a year after Cold Day Memory (much like Alpha and Hope And Sorrow). Great news to start my day.

Oh man, I'm hoping Sevendust comes back to Starland Ballroom. I missed them on the Music as a Weapon tour. A7X, eh, seen them once, don't need to see them again.
    derrickddyp
Yeah it's confirmed. They're touring together along with Three Days Grace and Bullet For My Valentine. I'm gonna make a road trip to see Sevendust again. Amazing live. The other bands are a bonus.
