Talking to British radio station Xfm, ex-Oasis singer Liam Gallagher has said that his new band, Beady Eye, will be playing Oasis songs live this summer. Gallagher said: "We're doing Fuji Festival in Japan, which is in July. And we will be dropping Oasis songs for anyone who's bothered. "We were always going to do it, but we thought the album needed to stand on its own. We've done some good gigs, we've done some s--t gigs. "And it's time to drop them in now. Everyone else is. "I feel they're just as much my songs as they are Noel's. And if people don't like it, go to the bar or f--k off. If they do like it, jump up and down, let's have a good time." Thanks for the report to Andrew Vaughan, Gibson.com.

Or they could just reform Oasis...easier said than done sure but stuff like "Were doing Fuji Festival in Japan, which is in July. And we will be dropping Oasis songs for anyone whos bothered." just gets annoying.

I dunno, man... I think you might have these two mixed up.

Well, you may have liked the record, but actually, even doing just a little research shows that the reception for Beady Eye's record was mixed at best, and that Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds pretty much well received across the board. As for playing Oasis songs, it doesn't matter if both were in Oasis. What matters is who owns the rights to the songs, and who was credited as the primary songwriter. If those are both Noel (Which, if I'm not mistaken, they are), then he's well within his rights to sue the hell out of Liam and Beady Eye if he doesn't want them playing Oasis songs.

What a hypocrite. The last I checked he was slamming Noel for doing the same thing. And it'll be more pathetic if the only Oasis songs they play are Noel's (which they will be).

I wish more people could apply this style of thinking to other facets of life.

Am I the only one who likes Oasis, Beady Eye and The High Flying Birds?

"I feel theyre just as much my songs as they are Noels." No, Liam. They are Noel's. He's a talented song writer. You're a talentless twat who's got famous off your brother putting you in his band to sing the lyrics he writes for you.

And here comes the lawsuits from Noel. Beady Eye may be able to get away with singing the handful or mediocre songs Liam wrote, but anything of value Oasis did came from Noel. Not sure they could sing his songs without permission from him. This move seems like waving the white flag by Liam. So now that Noel's record was huge and Beady Eye wasn't Liam realizes just how important Noel was to his success.

Noel doesn't really need Oasis. He made a great record on his own, Liam didn't. I would love to see them get together, but Noel has created the best "Oasis"-record in many years.

Is this a Troll Gallagher? Noelly's album went to number 1 pal. And yeah while they're perhaps more Noel's property than Liam's in an intellectual sense, Liam was the voice and the frontman of Oasis, definitively, and part of the reason some of the songs are so big is Liam's interpretation of them

I think you mean Liam putting Noel in his band. In any event, they'd be nowhere without each other.

I remember a couple of months ago of this... "Liam Gallagher Calls Noel A 'Parasite' For Playing Oasis Songs"

To be fair, Noel didn't write ALL the songs for Oasis, and I really hope they play NONE of the songs he wrote, cause Liam, Gem, and Andy wrote some really good tunes that Noel will NEVER play live.

I'd rather they play songs from a British band that's actually good, like "Get Away" by Yuck.

My god, how many times are these brothers going to get into a fight over their music from over twenty years ago?! This is ridiculous, and frankly I hate seeing these articles on UG because they're constantly a rehash of the same things. They should start prefacing all titles with "Gallagher Garbage: etc etc".

I think the only part he's wrong about was the fact that Noel's album went by unnoticed. Other than that, I don't think he was too far off. Noel's album wasn't any 'Oasis' album. It was a lot different than typical Oasis -- much closer to adult-contemporary-pop -- and the material was horrible. The material on the Beady Eye album wasn't too much better (although it was a completely different genre), but it was immeasurably more listenable, in my opinion. Beady Eye just sounds better, to me, but I like rock 'n' roll more than whatever Noel is doing, so I guess that explains that.

This isn't new at all. I knew that Beady Eye would play Oasis songs for more than a month.
