Raleigh, North Carolina-based progressive metalcore quintet Between The Buried And Me will kick off a North American headlining tour on January 8, 2010 in Nashville, Tennessee. Support on the trek will come from Cynic, The Devin Townsend Project and Scale The Summit. Exact cities and dates will be announced soon.

Between The Buried And Me will play a record-release show for its new album, "The Great Misdirect", this Halloween at the Orange Peel in Asheville, North Carolina. The band will perform the entire new CD "Plus Some Oldies" at the show, which will feature additional appearances by Glass Casket featuring Between The Buried And Me drummer Blake Richardson and guitarist Dustie Waring), Braveyoung and Torchrunner (featuring Between The Buried And Me's merch/light guy Chuck Johnson).

Between The Buried And Me will embark on a U.S. tour in November with support from Veil Of Maya and Animals As Leaders. A list of tour dates can be found at this location.

"The Great Misdirect" was released on October 27 via Victory Records. A song from the CD, "Obfuscation", is available for streaming in the YouTube clip below. The nine-minute-and-fifteen-second track is a testament to the technically otherworldly original and proficient musicianship of BTBAM.

Jeez, I'd be fine with seeing them on either leg, but no Utah show... damn. And apparently I should check out their opening bands? Everyone here seems pretty thrilled about them (I already like Animals as Leaders and Scale The Summit)

How many penii do you have then? I gotta go either to Arizona or Colorado (I'm gunna try to avoid Texas) to see this show. I could use a trip to Denver. Or maybe I'll just fly in... I'm picking The Great Misdirect ASAP.

lol who cares about the opening acts, BTBAM have been one of the best metal bands in the last few years. I mean compare Colors and even the new album to the majority of recent metalcore/hardcore albums, no contest

I hope they bring a line-up as awesome as that over the pond. Not heard The Great Misdirect yet, if it surpasses Colors then I'm tempted to give those guys genius status.

I saw Cynic last year in Paris, when they were touring with Opeth. Pretty awesome band, even if they only played a few songs. Still haven't seen BTBAM though, but they're coming to Paris in February of next year so I'll most probably repair that soon. Their last album is beyond awesome, by the way.

Yeah I have no clue. I'm definately going to this tour though. Hopefully they come to either Philly or Baltimore. I'm friends with Chris from Scale The Summit and went and saw them on tour with Dream Theater this past summer and it was awesom.

Excellent news, Between The Buried And Me have been one of the most consistant, oustanding metal outfits to come about this decade.
