Black Sabbath Confirm Ozzfest, Australian Tour And New Album
It seems that, after being sidelined by Tony Iommi's cancer treatment, Black Sabbath are getting back on track. The recently reunited heavy metal godfathers have released a video confirming their first Australian tour in 40 years, the dates of which are as follows: Black Sabbath Australian tour 2013: 04/25 - Entertainment Centre, Brisbane 04/27 - Allphones Arena, Sydney 04/01 - Rod Laver, Melbourne 04/04 - Perth Arena, Perth Tickets go on sale midday Thursday, November 8. An exclusive presale will be available to Live Nation members from 9 a.m. Friday, November 2 until 5 p.m. Monday. As well as this, the band has also announced that they will be performing at this year's Ozzfest event in Japan alongside Slipknot. The two-day event will take place on May 11th-12th, 2013 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba City (outside Tokyo) with Slipknot headlining the first night, and Sabbath headlining the second. Alongside these two live date announcements, Sabbath have also confirmed that the band's new, Rick Rubin produced album, will come out in April of 2013. Ozzy Osbourne has stated an a recent interview, that even though Sabbath's music might be scary, it is still supposed to be fun: "I have never wanted to be serious, to have solemn music. It's meant to be fun. In actual fact, the way that all happened with the music and the name and everything, if I can remember, is we used to rehearse in a movie theatre so we decided to try to write songs inspired by scary movies. It was all flower power and love, but for us, living in the industrial town of Birmingham, we liked scary movies."
