Bon Jovi are set to go on a long hiatus after completing their current world tour, with mainman Jon Bon Jovi admitting the stress is getting to him. The band's fourth greatest hits compilation has charted well around the world, but the continued strain of delivering the goods means Bon Jovi will alter plans to keep travelling throughout 2011. Instead, they'll stop by the middle of the year and don't plan to return any time soon afterwards. Bon Jovi tells StarPulse.com: When you're going places where they don't have their own electricity, and you say, Don't worry, we'll bring our own,' it's time to take a break. We have to go to bed. But I'm not retiring for an old man who has no plastic surgery, still has all his own hair and wears a 30-inch waist, I'm doing okay. Bon Jovi have booked shows across Europe and North American until June, with more dates likely to be added taking the band up to the late summer. Thanks for the report to RockAAA.com.

Man.. how can people live with themselves writing comments that are nothing but hate, hate and hate. I don't run around in Megadeth or Metallica news just to let people know how much I dislike them. And why do you wish they would retire? You don't have to listen to their music if you don't wish so...

I will say that they deserve a good break. I have seen them twice in the past 3 years, and have tickets for them in February. All in the same city. They just keep touring. I'm sure that gets long. And plus maybe the break will help them write better music, The Circle sorta sucked.

This site never surprises to amaze me with the negative comments. Im No fan but I have seen Bon Jovi Live (for my GF) and will say this "you wont see a better live performance'. They certainly deserve a long break and I hope they will return in the future.

I don't care to see them, they've been making horrible music for over 20 years.

+1...there isn't one of us in this forum that wouldn't trade places with him in a second. He's made a very good living making music, and he's wrote some memorable tunes. I'm sure he gives a shit that the trolls in the UG forum don't like him

Anyone saying "you will not see a better live performance" than Bon Jovi needs to broaden your horizons a little bit more. No hate for them... their first few albums command respect, but the game's been over for them for a while now.

Fuck Bon Jovi. They were like hair metal and now theyre like blue collar Bruce Springsteen-esque stuff. Both of those are terrible.

These UG news keep claiming that it's the fourth while it's actually only the second proper one. And to answer the 'why' question... the record label.

A break would do him good Anyways, they come and go these days, and with the last of the greats of pre 21st century musicians, that's all we're gonna see these days

This is true, there are alot of optimistic cliched Bon Jovi songs lately, especially with the new album, even though i found it to be pretty soft.
