Bon Jovi: 'Richie Sambora Is Still in the Band'

As Planet Rock reports, Jon Bon Jovi has stated that Richie Sambora will be returning to the band, and cites "a personal matter" as the current reason for the guitarist's absence. The singer recently appeared on Ellen, where he was quizzed on the longevity of Bon Jovi as a band: "We like each other, I think that was really the key. We all had to have a lot of give and take, you had to go through some ups and downs. In the big picture you had to really like each other so you could go to work." Ellen Degeneres responded to this with: "It begs the question that Richie is not here. I would like to give you an opportunity to address that." To which Bon Jovi hesitantly replied: "Okay ... well ... all I can say is that, honest to God, it's a personal matter, but we love him very much and he's absolutely still a member of the band." The band also performed "Who Says You Can't Go Home" on the show with guitarist Phil X standing in for Sambora. Sambora quit the band's latest tour earlier this month.

Well, the news article is about one of the most underrated guitar players of all time. Why shouldn't you care... unless you weren't born in the 80's.

This is from the band that released Slippery When Wet? Someone's lost their distortion pedal, their drugs, and their energy.
