Blabbermouth.net reports, former Alice In Chains guitarist Jerry Cantrell made a surprise appearance at the Heart concert at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday (August 1). He joined in the encore on "Barracuda" and "Misty Mountain Top". In other news, the Alice In Chains classic "Man In The Box" is featured in the trailer for the new Tom Cruise film "Collateral". Jerry is currently writing new music and is expected to go into the studio in the next few months to record the follow-up to his 2002 solo effort, "Degradation Trip". The as-yet-untitled CD is tentatively due in early 2005 through an as-yet-undetermined label. Cardboard Vampyres, the new "covers" band featuring Cantrell, ex-The Cult guitarist Billy Duffy and former Mötley Crüe frontman John Corabi, will be making the following live appearances during August/September: 08/14 - Zoo Amphiteatre - Oklahoma City, OK (w/ ZZ Top) 09/11 - Carlos and Charlie's at Lake Travis - Austin, TX

i saw that thing on cmt crossroads to, it was very cool, besides that i loved alice in chains and i have degradations trip volumes 1 and 2, its a double cd and if you like AIC def. check it out because a lot of it has their sound and it should being that he wrote most of their material and sang in with layne stayley creating that dark/haunting harmonizing sound that AIC perfected. i will def. check out the new cd.

The first one was called Boggy Depot. I'll definitely be buying this, Jerry is one of the most under rated musicians around, considering he wrote almost all the Alice in Chains stuff as well as those solo albums.
I wasn't talking about bogey depot, i have that but they released Degradation trip in a double disk volume, titled Degradation Trip 1&2, it's a whole new cd full of the unreleased music and the actual degradation trip album

Jerry and Nancy have always been really close and Mike Inez I believe is Heart's current bassist. . . That whole seattle scene is really close, and for some reason AIC was closer to Heart than alot of other bands. . .

Degragation Trip is a great album, even though I don't have it (I listen to the songs from this cable music channel). Alice in Chains' music is really growing onto me. RIP Layne Staley.
