Corey Taylor 'Still Working' on Slipknot Tour with Mushroomhead

"Hopefully sooner than later we will see what happens," says the frontman.

In a new interview with Live Metal, Corey Taylor has once again iterated (via Blabbermouth) his intention for Slipknot to tour with fellow masked metallers Mushroomhead.

As Taylor notes though, it may be some months before we see the two bands play together:

"I'm working on that [a tour featuring Slipknot and Mushroomhead], honestly. It probably won't happen right away, just because [Slipknot's] been gone for awhile and we have all these changes, and we've got a new album coming out. So we want to kinda take the first six or seven months and just kind of re-establish ourselves. But I can say it's on my radar and it's one of the things I want to do, like for real.

As Taylor notes, he had also hoped that GWAR would join the bill, although Dave Brockie's passing now makes this impossible:

"Honestly now, especially now since [GWAR vocalist Dave] Brockie's dead - that was one of the guys that I really wanted to tour with. It was GWAR, [Slipknot], Mushroomhead and Mudvayne. I really wanted to put that together. So trust me. Hopefully sooner than later we will see what happens."

I would agree that my 13 year old self just had a conniption fit, and if I'm honest.... So did my now 24 year old self... But Slipknot and Mudvayne?! I would travel very far for that. Still wouldn't match my personal favorite lineup of the Subliminal Verses Tour though. mmmmm delicious memories.
In the same interview/article, Chad actually said that Mudvayne will return, which is great news! Can't wait for this to happen (both Mudvayne coming back together and this awesome tour).
I would have loved to see this tour when I was thirteen. Sadly, Mushroomhead's last two cd's have been abysmal, I wouldn't even want to sit through their set for songs from the only 2 discs I liked from them.
This. I don't see Mushroomhead being even remotely on the same quality level as Slipknot, so why would I want to see them touring together.
They were some of the main nu-metal bands about when they were at their peak. That could be a reason why, not so sure.
Actually mushroomhead puts on a killer show! just saw them not too long ago and it was amazing! you'd have to see it for yourself to really understand but they really go all out live.
